Gonen60,
That is real smooth. I have some questions about your bike. Like how did you do away with those ugly ass reflectors? I tried to take them off but the things are keyed to the turn signal stems. And the front ones are glued on I guess?
Last but not least you also rid your self of the rear fender. Is that the 350 dollar American sportbike kit?
Thanks for any help.

I took a saw and cut the rear fender off, did a little sanding, and a bit of spray paint.
I removed blinkers and the front reflectors pull off very easily...took off passenger pegs and supports, and removed belt guards. Added the seat cowl from American Sport Bike, going to get it painted this week.

I am also getting ready to order the black XB12R front fairing and handle bars...building the first XB9S/R...

Put the belt guards back on. Trust me.

Check out trojan Horse's part. I think it is a little cleaner and has nicer lights.

But I love American Sport Bike seat cowl! Will have one VERY soon!
The rear signals will stay in place with the reflectors off and the fronts on the fork legs will come off by prying them from the double stick tape!

What is up with the belt guard?

why buy the fender eliminator, when you can do it your self and save over 300 dollars...little sawing, sanding and spray painting.

the belt guard is even smaller on the new 2004s, so I am not really worried about it to much. I have owned several open belt bikes, and so far so good. the guard on the 2003 XBs is to big and ugly. I have stripped everything off I can...

The belt guard is smaller on the 2004 because it's a newer, wider much more durable belt. It probably doesn't need the same protection as the 2003 models.

Anybody looked at the new Corbin seat for the XB9S? Makes a very similar shape to the cowl that Gonen60 has put on his ride. They can even customize the leather for you.

Bad_Pete, Gonen60,

The 2003s and 2004s use a completely different belt system. The 2003's are apparently much more susceptible to road debris damage, hence the extensive guard system. Yes, they are not the prettiest things, but would your rather have to spend over $100 on a new belt or leave the belt guards on? I have also heard it put forward (hearsay only) that the belts are covered under warranty if they break before the alloted replacement interval and all the stock belt guards are in place I'll leave mine on, thank you, but you can do what you want. I'll readily admit they're unsightly.

I am just too lazy to take it off. Besides some engineer somewhere figured it needed to be there. What ever but they are ugly, but who's gonna see it when yu go buy at 80 MPH.
