so i was surfing around on trojan horse the other day and seen a unique air box cover and then i looked down on the the bike it was on and see these interesting looking fairly classy scoops, has anyone put anything like this on your bike, i e-mailed the company and they said that they were only for XB12X & XB12SS, i would like to put them on my XB12R, what is the difference between these models that would make it not work? here is the link to the scoops http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/194.html |

In there post they had a ask more info. I asked why they would not fit a XB S, Scg and a R model. I'll let you know when they email me back. |

The frames on the XB12X and XB12SS are a bit different than the XB12X and XB12R. These are what you're looking for http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/15.html |

You could probably fit these to the XB12R & S models, as the mounting points are all very similar. I have known people that have fitted the R & S scoops to the SS, so it should work the other way I suppose. The difference is in the shape of the scoops to suit the wider XB12X & SS frame rails, but again if you really wanted to you could probably modify these to fit on the other models too. We have to say in the product description that it is not designed to fit the R & S models, but what you choose to fit it to is entirely up to you of course |

I have Trojan's low profile scoops on my XB12SR. Work like a charm. Easy to install, and I think they look great too, really clean up the left side of the bike. The ones I got were white, and I painted them to match the frame with the Buell Graphite grey paint. I haven't had any overheating problems even with the wick turned up. Kind of hard to see the intake behind the steering damper, and that's sort of the idea.

I've also got them. I think they look a lot better than the standard air scoop. Norrie. |
