Spent Sunday polishing out my plastics, Turtle wax "white" buffing compound, followed by Novus #2, finalized with Wizzard brand plastic polish. Previous owner sanded the bike with 600 grit, I re-did it all and worked it to 1,000 and 1,200 grit: after turtle wax oops, deeper scratches needed out after the wizzard and the airbox after wizzard the grey tint in the photos is decieving. its one of the shiniest blacks i've ever seen right now! And then I picked this up from the powdercoater: And this is for my LED turn signals I put on: AND dhl dropped this on my door: The breather/catchcan is already installed: And my "custom" Buell seat should be here this week! |

Looks like a lot of hard work, that's paying off. I wish I had your patience. Are you doing this all by hand? (Message edited by henry_the_8th on February 07, 2008) |

I've got a machine buffer. Had planned on doing it by hand until I remembered having it. Sanding time I didn't bother to count (toooooo many hours) Buffing time I've got about 6 hours in it now. Still need to do a small section of the tail that was too close to the wall, and redo the passenger seat cover. It was my first piece and I didn't have my system figured out quite yet. Thanks for the encouragement, I'm happy with it too. Corporate, if you plastic is Kick Ash, send it to me and I'll work on it. But I get the feeling it might get lost in the mail |

The HID setup is off e-bay. It's a cheapy, but I'm willing to try it out. My plan is to wire it so that if a ballast goes out I can pull over and switch back to a stock bulb (stashed in my "trunk"). Buffing was pretty fun, watching it go from dull to reflecting me was a great feeling. Since I bought the bike in October I've been trying to figure out how to do the buff, JUST DO IT, was the easiest way! I'll have to get it out in the sun once its all buffed and cleaned (power buffer makes a huge mess!) and take some pics then. Also have some new Headlight bezels in the mail. |

You can't steal my plastics, I just want someone to come by and polish mine (bike that is...). Funny story, recently I came out of a shop and this guy was looking long and hard at my rubber X. He left before I got to the bike, but I am sure it was a fellow bueller lusting after my X. |

Wow, DHL actually dropped that at your door, not tied to your mailbox on the street? (yeah, sarcasm, I HATE DHL). Anyway, nice polishing job! Though I am a fan of flat/satin black, gloss black looks great on these bikes. |

Corp, you can keep the X, I just want the kick ash!. though if i'm stealing i suppose I should take it all? Biker, well actually, they claimed to leave it at the house (between doors) at 9am. Girlfriend got out of bed and went to work at 10, didnt see anything but tracks in the snow. When she came home at 4 it was there. So really no idea what they did, not thrilled with it either. AND their website has a "glitch" every time I try to look at the signature for it. Not so much of a fan either |
