Can't imagine they'd be different from an '05, and the gap is 0.035 in (0.9mm). Cable resistance is 1350-3465 Ohms. Torque to 11-18 ft-lbs (15-24Nm) | ||

I gapped mine at .038 and did away with most of the pinging in hot weather. But it does gurggle a little in the exhaust. | ||

FWIW, my 12 likes .030" best with NGK 9 series iridiums. | ||

Typeone, What do you mean your 12 "likes" .030... More performance?. I'm i Tucson, AZ so no pinging in hot temps sounds good. but .008 is a big difference. | ||

Darth, I don't have hard dyno evidence but when I changed my plugs late summer the gap was at .025" by mistake (pre-set NGK Ir) and the front wheel was lofting off the ground while shifting high up in the rev range. felt fantastic. nothing else changed on the bike. i was boggled. BUT... popping on decel increased a ton. i was totally confused but knew i only messed with the plugs. yanked 'em back out and set the gap to spec at .035", lost that little of that snap of power i was so happy with and i experienced a little bit of ping. hmmm. so i figured why not try out .030" and see how things worked out. some of the power was back (we're not talking mountains here but def noticeable), the ping gone and popping back to normal on decel. my last ride of the season the bike ran fantastic with this gap. now, it could have been the cooler weather setting in, the fuel, or something else (was tweaking fuel maps during this time but not during these tests) but all i know is the bike was 'happy' at .030" vs. .035" by the book. again, no hard evidence but SOTP feel. | ||

Guys I went away from the ngks due to their poor and in consistent performance. A combination of the BUELL Pro series plugs and a set of racing wires from Iron Machine. You will be happy I promise. | ||

poor and inconsistent performance? never in all my years of motorcycling, dirt and street, have i had an issue with an NGK plug. i use them in everything. the Buell Pro Series i tried and ditched but i know many like them. i also have the IronMachine race wires but i dont like the cap, it pushes on the inside of the frame. we all know what eventually happens on these bikes when something is rubbing or touching something else it shouldnt. just a couple a coins on both comments. only based on past experience. YMMV. | ||
