How many different shades of blue is the chin spoiler available in? I know there was a blue for the 05 XB12R, but I don't know the name of it. I went digging looking for some in photos but that was the only one I found. I am looking for one that matches the Hero Blue CityX plastics. |

i thought the citx x hero blue plastics were only the fairing and airbox cover, fenders and chin spoilers were black i believe |

Yes it’s not part of the CityX package, I am just planning a weird CityX/SS/STT/Uly hybrid This Firebolt has blue chin spoiler piece, but I think it looks too dark. http://www.motorcycleconnect.com/Buell/2006/Firebo lt/XB12R/XB12R_1.jpg |

There's the 05 Thrust Blue of the XB12R There's the Battle Blue 0f the 03-04 XB9R I don't think either really matches the Hero Blue. You might have better luck finding paint that matches. |

Is "Hero Blue" that translucent color? I'm trying to picture a see-through chin fairing, but I'm not sure that would be very flattering considering what the pipe looks like underneath.... |

Yeah Hero is the translucent. I couldn't imagine a translucent spoiler. If I had something like that on my bike I wouldn't worry about seeing the muffler. All the road grime would keep it well concealed |

lol yea the hero blue is translucent, I am not looking to get the chin to be translucent, I just want the plastics to match. I might just get something else and get them painted, because I will need to get the number plates painted either way. |

Froggy, I'll send you some pics when I get home. I was running the Cityx air box and fly with thrust blue fender and chin for a while before I got a hold of a set of blacks. |

Digging that old thread out but Froggy, did you ever find a matching blue? I got a seat cowl from Portugal and want to 2 tone it (black and blue) and I am trying to find the best blue to match the wheels... Any ideas? |

I saw your other thread. I don't know of any paint that matches. I picked up the battle blue chin pieces, they are much brighter than hero blue, and thrust blue is much darker. Rather than screw around with paint, I ended up doing vinyl wraps as its cheap and removable. Pic with battle blue: Pic with vinyl wrap:

Nice thanks... I like the vinyl wrap... got a linky for that? I also get a response from Vern (your recommendation, thanks again) and he confirmed that matching paint would be a matter of trial and error... |
