hi guys new here but been lurking this board for ever since I wanted a buell. I'm getting a White 04 XB9R for a really good deal thats has all kinds of aftermarket goodies on it. It's a steal with those parts on it. Anyways I really want a XB9s so I'm asking if anybody wants to swap the rear white tail section with everything but passenger foot pegs brackets. Has the seat and cover but the pegs holders are gone and sold. I want to swap the front also to the S look if anybody wants to. I will sell all the parts to buy the S stuff if I can't find an even trade anyways. I would also like to see if anybody like to swap out the amber wheels for my silver ones. OR give me the powdercolor code and I'll have them done when I get my frame down to a dark silver. I will have the bike in a few weeks just wanting to get everything ready so I wont miss any riding time. |

i highly doubt you are going to want to do the firebolt front to lightning front once you realize the wiring harnesses are alot different between the 2. the fuse blocks are on completely different ends of the bike. |

I'll trade you my red plastics for the white ones, but you'll still have an XBR when you're done. |

Wolfridgerider and I swapped tails, he had an R and I had an S. We didn't have to swap harnesses. The S tail on the R is a no brainer. Since all the electrics are in the fairing means you have all kinds of room under the S seat when you're done. The R tail on an S is a little bit more difficult, but very doable. If you're handy, you can break the fuse box housing, then slide the two pieces back together longways (only have to lengthen one wire), the you can put the fuse box and the comm port in the R tail "trunk". Also you'll want to swap the battery cables, to keep from having to put the battery upside down, although it works fine that way. Also you'll want to be careful with the bank angle sensor, make sure to have it right side up, if you don't the bike will think it's on it's side and won't run for more than a little while. It's funny now! The S to R took maybe 30 minutes. The R to S took maybe two hours total. Here's what my "trunk" looks like now. Here's what the bike looked like right after we finished.
There's a picture of the finished bike in my profile, but, it's kind of hard to see. |

I'd double check if I were you. 03's had a few shortcomings. Still a good bike, but not worth the same as a comparable 04' If it is an 03' make sure the seller sweetens the deal or discounts it a bit. Chew em down. Good luck. |

Hey Wolf, is that a molded front number plate or a new nose on your Firebolt front end? |
