Was wondering what saddlebags you Firebolt (XBR) riders use?

I have the Buell bags that are made for the Firebolt. While they are a bit small they are more than enough for commuting use. They fit really nice and look like they were made for the bike. Also incorporate brackets that do not look out of place w/the bags off of the bike. Not totally waterproof, but did a good enough job for my 32 mile ride in a continuous downpour last summer.

I use the factory bags work well but if any rocks get between the bags and the bike it will scratch the side of your bike.

I use the old all black XBR bags. Not big, not great, but they work for small missions.

I've used the Nelson Rigg standard bags. Got 'em at newenough.com for about $65 about 3 years ago. They're still holding up well. You can kinda see them in my profile pic.

My XB9SX bags are the Tour Master bags by Cortech. Was thinking about maybe going with their sport bags. Dunno if anyone else uses them.

I've got the lightning bags on my firebolt. All I had to do was buy some velcro to extend the mounting straps.

I use some old schooly Tourmasters, have served me well these last 17 years. They've been on every street bike I've owned and even used them to pack gear on one of my dirt bikes.

Solid products.

Chase Harper Stealth saddlebags have worked out well for 2 up touring on our Firebolt.

how wide is the factory xbr saddlebag spreader from bag to bag? i bought what i thought was an xbr set from the classifieds and although the bags straps are wide enough to put on my 1125, the support bar doesn't fit over the tail piece. thanks.

Pwnzor, I do now. That pic was taken from our first Firebolt road trip to Laguna Seca, before I added the Ventura rack, Heli bars, Zero Gravity +3 smoke screen, Lightning pegs and lowered passenger pegs.

With those mods Firebolt touring is now a relatively painless adventure for the wife & me.: )

Thanks,
Sparky

There are a new set of bags coming out through H-D; They are for the XR1200 (the rear tail is very similar to the XB) Check your dealer for the parts listing, they just came out. Should be able to order by the end of the month. Hard cases that look like they have more room than the Buell ear muffs.

Sparky, How did you lower the pass footpegs? Planning on a roadtrip to biketoberfest, and I think that would make the wifey a little more comfy back there. Also how do you like the ventura. I'm between either saddle bags, but cant find any that dont look like they will intrude on the pass pegs, and a tank bag, or just get the ventura. Greatful for any input.
