I have stock handgrips on my 2007 XB9R and my hands are big. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Traction hand grips made by Buell are bigger around than the stock grips. I understand that the tractions are contoured to fit the "natural" curve of the hand, but are they bigger around? Thanks. |

They are definitely fatter than the stock ones that came on my '03 XB9R...I noticed it right away and have used them for the last 4 years. At the very least, it should fit you better if the stockers are too small. I would say the middle is just a mm or two smaller than the metal type aftermarket grips available for the Harley's. The shape is much better as the middle sinks into the "palm pocket" nicely making them pretty comfortable. |

+1 for the tractions, much more comfortable over stock. Sorry but I can't be of any help with the measurements. |

Sorry, I don't have the measurements either... but a total difference over the stockers. Definitely more comfy. Chad |

+2 for Tractions. Most comfortable I've ever used (and I've tried 4 different types...) |

Thanks for all the input so far. I still would like some numbers to work with, if anyone gets a chance to measure them. You think that Buell would market the grips in a way that people could compare them without doing all of this . |

Ok here are some rough measurements, but should be close enough to give you an idea. Traction grips have a circumference of 5" in the center and 4.5" at the ends. Stock are 4" at the innermost point and taper out to just under 4.5 at the outermost point. |

If you are changing grips I would HIGHLY recommend getting the heated grip kit from American Sport Bike. It's probably the best $30 I've ever put on the handlebars. I've found myself having to take my hands off to cool when it's on the high setting. |

It's funny that the stocks are actually wider on the ends than in the middle. But good to know that the Tractions are an inch wider in the middle. Thanks Northernyankee. I guess I'm kinda a Yankee too. It sucks this time of the year |
