I got one of the very first ones. Took about an hour to install following the excellent instructions. It has got to be one of my favorite mods, I just could not stand looking at the stock design, (or lack of same:-).

Is it possible to change the color of the lighting in the instrument cluster? Can we just change out a bulb or get one of those bulb condoms? DOOM |

Yeah, you can, but I can't remember what the bulb is. It was a weird one. |

Damn, I wish I found these overlays a couple years ago. I never did care for the powder blue cluster on my 9SX. Those are sweet. Now make one for the 1125r--although the stock one is pretty straight forward. I am sure there will be suggestions as more people take possession of this animal. |

Bulbs = T1 Neowedge. Specifically the T1, not the larger T1-1/4, etc. There are three incandescent bulbs under the faceplate. (Message edited by typeone on December 20, 2007) |

Anyone understand this? DOOM (Message edited by Thulsadoom on January 04, 2008) |

Midnightrider: Buell part number for replacement bulb is Y0162.02AB Bulb, Instrument Cluster Backlight IIRC they are about $4 each. I'd love to find some suitable LED replacements myself. Thulsadoom: Picture of the T1 Neowedge. FYI: If you get one even slightly taller than the original, it will not fit (not much space between circuit board and the translucent overlay).

thanks chainsaw i should have been clearer - i'm wanting to buy a different color T1 neowedge I've actually had the panel apart, removed the stock lamp, and took it to a few places (not HD-B dealers) around here. Nobody I checked with had ever seen one much less had a stock of. Any reason you can't replace the incandescent with an LED (provided you could find a T1 neowedge LED)? A friend of mine thinks he can remove the stock lamp from the base and replace with an LED - I just haven't taken the time to order some replacements in case he fails |

Midnightrider, thats my plan as well. use the stock base, install the LED but I don't know the correct specs, e.g. amp/volt/whatever. height i can measure. |

It's been awhile but I think I knew, at one time, the specs of the original lamp. It may have been on the actual lamp or in the service manual - not sure really. Please let me know what you find out and if I can find the specs again, I'll let you know |

for the 2006 Uly, there are two different lamps in the service manual specifications table 7.7, instruments, backlight: YO163.02AB - 1.12 Watts, 0.08 amps (2 of these) and YO162.02AB - 0.7 watts, 0.05 amps (1 of these) according to the same table, the first YO163.02AB is the same part number for the turn signal indicator, the check engine light, the oil indicator, and the neutral light. the second YO162.02AB, is also used for the high beam indicator (Message edited by midnightrider on January 05, 2008) |

Thanks, Midnightrider! I need to dig up a link to an LED source I bookmarked way back and cross reference those specs. If I find anything good, I'll post up.. . |

Well, I can't find T1 Neowedges anywhere. What about bulb condoms? I imagine they would dim the brightness of the lights somewhat. Any other suggestions? Coloring the bulbs with a highlighter? That was a joke, but if it works... DOOM |

I'm at work or I would. Any dealers out there that might actually have a part in stock they could check? It's not hard to open up the cluster but it does take a little while to take it apart and put it back together |

Just shot off an email to superlumination.com. along with part numbers, chainsaw's photo, etc. told them they might expect several orders if there is a suitable replacement who knows? |
