Does anybody have these on their bike? I was thinking about putting a set on my race bike. I don't really need them, but the adjustability would be nice. Plus they're stronger than the OEM parts, they'd be like having another set of frame sliders. Pics too please if ya got'em. Schmitty |

l/s Right side took a good shot when my bike went down after somebody hit me from the rear while I was stopped in traffic last July. A little scuffed and it can be replaced for about $29.99 also the GP Shift came with it. (Message edited by Jmor03 on January 05, 2008) |

Hey Schmitty...I had these on my track bike two seasons ago. They are very well made and very nice looking although slightly expensive. Anyway, I low sided in turn 1 at Summit Point, WV and destroyed the right side. Here is my complaint...There was only one other Buell racing that weekend and was running stock pieces. The track side vendors were like "rearsets for a Buell, no way!" Fortunately I had the stock stuff with me and was able to swap it back to stock only missing one race. I can't afford to carry multiple sets of $400 rearsets so I've opted to stick with a modified stock setup. I remove the stock tabs that hold the street pegs and drill a hole to bolt a rigid peg. I keep a few spares in the trailer, but so far have not needed them. Here is a pic.

I had them on my 03 XB9R and loved them...the pegs felt REALLY solid. Unfortunately I crashed the bike and messed them up...they were hit really hard and the main mounting point bent a little bit which I think may have saved the bike's frame at that end since it absorbed the energy. I am currently running the stock peg mounts but running the Woodcraft brake/shifter lever. The shifter has two mounting points for the linkage and I use the one closer to the pivot point as it makes shifting easier. I am undecided if I will return to the full setup before I replace this bike with a 12R or 1125R. Overall the quality is very good and they look pretty nice. |

I'm also of the school using stock pegs since I'm just not dragging my feet enough to need more rear-set pegs. Stockers are cheap, peg can be relocated and a billet peg can be bolted to the mount to give a rigid peg. Just doesn't have the "cool factor" of the aftermarket pegs but is $400 cheaper and I'd argue gives a tad better protection in a tip-over. I remember that Ciccotto was racing the STOCK peg locations on his/Hals XB racer when we looked at it up at Laguna Seca a few years back. The only time I've drug my pegs is when I've come off the bike first. (Message edited by slaughter on January 05, 2008) |
