Anyone know if it's safe to use fuel system cleaner in these bikes? I have some Lucas and Seafoam in the garage that I'm looking to use, or is there another brand that you guys prefer? Thanks! |

Is your fuel system dirty? A two year old bike should be pretty clean. |

I wouldn't do it. Taking chances of messing up your 02 sensor I think. Check the archives here. |

I've run B-12 Chemtool though mine several times over the last 5 years. As Dent pointed out, make sure the cleaner is O2 safe. Keith |

I've used Gumout with no problems just BE SURE you use the correct mixing amounts. I used too much in an old Honda once and it took forever to ride it all out. |

I put an entire bottle of cleaner (and then an entire bottle of octane booster) in two tanks (separate fill ups). It was 02 and injector safe. Thing ran like you wouldn't believe... had 2 speeds... too fast for residential streets and too fast for the highway. I'm not recommending this cause I actually have an intake leak and its running lean, pinging, etc.. These additives are just masking the problem for now. Made the pinging quit though! |
