New Year's Day ride of a short 40 miles. Dry, temps in the 40's. As of today in the state of WA it is illegal for drivers to text messages. On July 1 it will be illegal to hold a cell phone while driving. They are "2nd level" offenses for now. It should never be legal as there are too many just plain inattentive drivers out there. Anyway, partially because of the accident, I rode less than 1200 miles in 2007. That's not enough miles to sustain a habit, imho. Just ride.
That's the Olympic Mtns in the background. The '03 XB9S sure looks new with all that replaced stuff. |

You should have contacted me. Today I got my bike back from storage. It started just fine, but sputtered for a few minutes until it warmed up. It was quite nippy riding home. I really could use some warm weather. Next time you head out let me know. |

Prof Stack- I see you are a math teacher. Do you ever ride to work? That would have been so cool to have a teacher with a bike, especially a Buell!! |

Bicycle or auto are my commuters nowadays. |

Those legislations should be enacted everywhere! Something should also be done about those horrid SUVs... People should not be allowed to own one without a valid reason. |

Wb Professor, come see us out in Silverdale next time ;) We are doing our weekly rides, it would be great to get you and Monkey out on our side of the water for a putt. Went snow chasing on New Years day. The MT-60s loved it, I will be up to try that again. |

I worry about legislation that outlaws holding a cell phone but not using a cell phone. At least when someone's holding a cell phone you have a chance to see they're using one and realize they're driving in a semi-stupor. I think they'll outlaw motorcycles before they outlaw cell phones. Easier and cheaper then holding cell phone users responsible for their actions.. |

Dutchboy, That is a good point... It would be interesting what that legislation actually entails. |
