How do you get the City-X air box x-guard without buying the entire airbox lid? Is the x-guard not made available separately? I'm looking to put one on my '06 Long. I never see them listed on Ebay or on the classified pages, but I've seen a few of them on S and R models shown on some peoples profiles. Thanks for the info. Bo Sox |

They only come on the tank, not a separate part number. A while back there was a member who was working at molding some, but I don't know what happened to that. I'd be interested in one myself for the right money. |

"How do you get the City-X air box x-guard without buying the entire airbox lid?" I was thinking the same thing. It'd look cool on my orange XB12X. |

My appologies Xb9er! I misunderstood your point! That's just what he wants you to think! Really he means you smell like tuna, and are a sissy girl. I wouldn't stand for that crap if I were you. |

I have one on my white firebolt airbox cover. I got it from Al at American Sport Bike who salvaged it off of a broken city-X airbox cover. At homecoming last year we did ask about the possibility of the X being offered on other colors of airbox covers from the factory but nothing ever came of it. Buell does not offer it as a separate part because of the volatility of the adhesive and the difficulties with locating and holding the X without a fixture to hold it. The X is great for stabilizing a tank bag and I think it looks good too! I used an automotive trim adhesive to attach mine and blue painters tape to guide where I put the thing onto my airbox cover. |
