Well, after much time, and frustration, and giving up all hope, I got my Buell .

Man I love this bike! What should I watch out for with the headlight? Its a 2004 with almost 4000 miles on it. Got it with a 2 year extended warranty . |

Firebolts are notorious for damaging the headlight reflectors. It seems to be hit or miss when it will happen, but it usually does. There is a current thread on this board about the issue. |

How well should the bike run in cold weather? It was about 32 degrees out this morning, and it died on me twice while idling. Didnt really want to start back up either after it died. I know it has sit for 4 or more months without being ridden, or probably even started. Most likely has some pretty old gas in it. Would running some fuel injector cleaner through it after I fill it up with new gas hurt it? Could the battery be going bad? I know the dealership replaced the spark plugs on it before I bought it because they felt a slight miss in it. I still feel the miss when the engine is cold though. Can barely feel the miss after it warms up when im cruising along at 1-2% throttle. I checked this morning and it does have the full factory racekit on it. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Sounds like bad gas, fouled plugs, or a confused ECM (or some combination). Once warmed up, the bike should run like normal in cold weather, except that it will have about 5-10 more horsepower then it would on a hot day. If it were me, I would siphon as much of the gas as I could out of the tank, put in a fresh tank, run that through, on as long a ride as I can manage, letting the bike get nice and hot and with some long steady state stretches at different RPM's. That will get out the old gas, burn up any junk on the plugs, and let the ECM learn the current conditions. |

Cool Reep, its kinda what I was thinking with it. I had a 250 ninja I bought a long time ago that had set for 4 months, and it ran about the same as this until I got a fresh tank of gas in it. I absolutely love this bike! Got the frame pucks put on today. Took some more pictures of her too

Good idea about the leash for the disc lock. Left my disc lock on the rear wheel and took off. $4000 and half a wheel rotation later. See the photos in knowledge/crashes and mishaps/disc loc |

Yup Elff, it did . No replacement frame for my FZ6 Silentsniper. The guy wrecked it a 2nd time while he had it in his posession. Did enough damage to it for insurance to total the bike out completely. |
