Some people were curious about this idea and I was checking to see if anyone else had personal experience with this concept.

you could put the front end fork springs on it, but the scg shock wouldnt work, you have two different legths on the gap. Actually trying to go the other way myself, TT suspension on a 9SX... Looking at the measurements, I will prob have to go after market for the rear shock .

I'm pretty sure that he's referring to the gap between the upper and lower shock mounts. So the length of the shock will be different.

i know the scg and the firebolts or regular lightnings used to be interchangable, but the SS has a different shock than even the regular S. pretty sure the length is a hair different.

The Uly, SS, and TT all have a different swingarms, shock lengths, and under tray clearances from the Firebolt, and standard length lightnings.

The SCG will fit fine on anything but the Uly, SS, and TT.

Now you might get the rear to fit, but you will have a lot of time invested in making sure the belt is at the proper tension. You will be changing the rear susp. geometry so much I would not bother.

maybe this migrate to KV. Actually it would be a great matrix for Buell ie if you have this model and want to go 1 inch up use this shock, 1 inch down, use this shock. With the inclusion of brake lines cables that you need if you need them. With all the tech heads here, there really should be some parts listing for the conversions.
So either I put the STT shocks on the bike, or I get a ULY with a shorter XB frame rail

I did the swap on my (03) firebolt. The 03-04 models can do the swap with just the fork tubes, shock and kickstand.

The later models with the larger fork diameter require that the lower triple clamp be swapped as well.

I'm not sure how compatible the SS suspension bits are, I know that the TT and Uly are not compatible for the swap.
