I was just on the Buell site and they sell air box covers for 06 and up. I was wondering if they fit an 05 XB9. I looked @ one today and the cover has the two bolt holes broken off, so....advice anyone?? |

I don't see any reason why the cover won't fit. I bought an 07 carbon fiber cover from a fellow BWer and it fit with zero problems on my 03. |

I was just reading about the new ones having mesh and the old ones didn't? do the new ones vent more air? Can you modify it to? 05 xb9 mod to 12w/stock body work |

it will fit fine, give you more air and look nicer. I have an 03 with kick ash plastics, no problems on install. if theirs is broken have them throw in a new one free, I bet they will if you make it a deal-breaker (Message edited by dmp0001 on December 19, 2007) |

some coins.. . to get more air from the front mesh/scoop on the '06+, you would need to upgrade or modify your '05 inner airbox cover as well, otherwise that small scoop isn't going anywhere. your stock '05 inner isn't vented at all. it gets air from the left scoop and inlet through frame. |
