XB9S with 1200 miles. After I hit a big bump in the road the other day my check engine light started to come on intermmitently. Occasionally it would be constantly on, and other times just flash sporadically( seems to follow road vibration) After doing a wheelie ( sloppy one) the check engine light went off for two days until I went over railroad tracks. Any Ideas as to which sensor to check first? I have a feeling it's gotta be a loose sensor.....???????? |

I had a lengthly discussion with some techs in Jersey the other day as I was getting my tire changed and they told me that the O2 sensor has a tendency to rattle loose after a while. You might want to just give your bike a good look around and check to see if everything is still on it tight. Monty- |

Thanks for the info. I took my bike into the shop and the computer turned up no error codes. So I am planning on checking the O2 sensor tonight. If that isn't it, it may be a loose wire connection in the dash. Thanks again |

No luck yet. All sensors appear to be secure. Kinda a little freaked about disassembling the dash. I'll wait for Buell service. |

Still no luck. Bike was checked out by Buell tech and no luck tracing the failure. I feel bad for the poor guy that has to fix it, but now I'm getting a little frustrated. Of course the light wouldn't come on for them the second time I took it in. Three days later.... back to the flickering frenzy Anyone else experience this problem? |

Jed, since you're not describing any actual engine problems along with this, and particularly since it seems to come on only with vibrations, I'm thinking perhaps you have a grounded-out wire somewhere that's causing the idiot light to pop on. The check engine lamp ckt is black with a yellow stripe where it enters the dashboard, check that ckt for shorts. |
