After my ride home from work yesterday I noticed oil dripping from the oil cooler. Needless to say I was not too happy considering I have only had the bike a day. She is back at the Harley dealer now. They said I should have her back today.

Anyone else have leakage in this area?

First report I have heard of. Sorry to hear it happend to ya. And on the first day no less.

I hope that it is an isolated incident and that you might find comfort in that. At least you'll have it back for the weekend!

That happened to somebody else here I believe. Check the archives. I don't think it is a big deal.

I believe they hook those oil lines up at the dealer and there is a pretty particular sequence they are supposed to follow, that don't always get followed. But what do I know, I am not a dealer and don't own an XB (sadly).

That may or may not be the case here, but I would not be suprised.

A little teflon tape and you'll be good to go. But now you're stuck with the bike. It has marked its territory, claiming your garage as it's own.

When I picked my bike up new from the dealer it had a oil line leak.(May of 2002) Took it back and they fixed it asap. 60 miles later the other line started leaking. Had to take it back and they fixed it also. Yours is the only other bike I have heard of that has had the same oil leak.
Great Bike!!!! Don't get discouraged.

Picked it up after lunch. They even washed it for me. A loose fitting was the culprit.

I had 2 oil leaks.
1e oil line return pomp-swingarm ( rubbed through on the exhaust bracket )
2e same line but now the fitting on the oilpomp came lose, knee joint
( line mounted with tension )
I think the oil lines were not fitted correct , @ the dealers when fixing my bike after a crash.

Gr,m

The oil cooler plumbing seems to be a common spot for leaks, as I know of at least two bikes this has happened on. Teflon tape & re-tightening the fittings was the fix in both cases.
