Who on knows where to get the fairest price for a set of pitbull stands. Thanks for all the info and opinions. Money and quality are my biggest deciding factor, I dont want to save $50 just to cause $500 later on due to a failure. I have a front tire with a side wall bulge growing...so my buell is MIA at the moment. If Andy is the best at Pitbull, who has the best price for Handy? Go Direct. I did all the research before I bought mine. I have numerous friends with PB's and I frankly don't see the difference. I just couldn't justify the extra money and I always go for quality over $'s. (Message edited by dobr24 on October 16, 2007) | ||

I have to agree, the quality of the Pit Bull stands is the best in the industry. Vortex is a close second. The Handy Stands are OK, but if they were equal quality at a lower price they would be dominating the market, especially in the pits of racing hobbyist where cash is always tight. The racers use Pit Bull stands because they just plain WORK. | ||

Please. Do not try to save 50.00 on a cheap piece of imported lawn chair tubing. See what racers use. They can not afford their bikes to fall. Pit Bull is made in the ....... USA by the way. Still waiting for the T-Rex guy to get back to me on that question- for those keeping score. | ||

Add one more to the Pit Bull party. I LOVE these stands, top notch quality, and cool cad plating to boot  . Seriously, I've had mine for almost 2 years now and they have been flawless to work with. I do all my own service and they paid for themselves the second time I had to lift my 9, heck, the 9 is up right now for major clutch and steering head service. My full set of handy stands including the rear swingarm stand and the front stem lift stand went for $207.71 delivered. From what I see the pit bulls are $293.90 not including delivery, so the difference is far from $50 more like $100.00+. I think the handy stands are not very well known because they don't appear to advertise. They arrived two days after I ordered them. They fold down to save room and can support my xb12ss and my 230 pounds and still be rock solid. Well here is what I found out. Based on reviews and quality Pitbull and Handy are probably the two best options out there for wheel stands. I talked to Andy in WI, He quoted me a Pitbull price around $260.00+ shipping. Sounds like a great warranty and customer service. I also called Handy in Iowa directly. I talked to a SW sales guy named Chad, 1-800-247-7594. Their products are backed by 40+ years of motorsport equipment manufacturing. I asked him about future quality issues, they would take it right back and give a replacement w/o question. Handy has two things in their favor, a whole set of pins for all bikes, and their price is more around $200 w/ Shipping. I can't see a difference in customer support, Handy is a industry powerhouse when it comes to table lifts. Tough decision... | ||

And ive used PitBull, which are nice. but T-Rex is just as nice, with an even nicer price tag. On the other hand i have used Motoboss, and some other cheap brand, and NO THANKS!!! those are junk!!!!!! It really comes down to YOU! and what YOU want. PitBull has a top notch product and I feel after owning and using on a regular basis, so does T-Rex. Its your call, your money, and most importantly your bike! I have the T-Rex pair also. Seems real nice and stable. Don't know if they are US made or imported. IMHO the powder coat seems a little on the low side as far as being durable. I think that mine were like $119 delivered. For my home garage needs they are fine. Yeah +1 on the rubber bands. Neil S. | ||

+1 for Pit Bull. Great stands and even better customer support. I picked up an older type Pit Bull front stand, uses a cantilevered beam with pin that inserts into bottom of triple clamp. The stand came with two pins, but neither pin really fit the XB, so I called Pit Bull and got the correct pin. Rest of the story: I bought the front stand used via eBay, and Pit Bull sent me the correct pin gratis! They had no reason to do so except support a customer. I immediately bought a brand new Pit Bull rear stand to show my respect. | ||

I know there are some things you can do with the headstock stand that you can't do with the front fork stand, but is there anything that you can do with the front fork stand that you cannot do with the headstock stand? Just wondering if there is any reason to buy a front fork stand if I have a headstock stand. Thanks | ||
