fan went out on my xb12r at 14,000(s)miles. so, while it was at the dealer, i had them reset t.p.s., ideal, timing. thought all was good, went on 300 (s)mile ride today. 200 (s)miles into it i have a exhaust leak. pull over and where the header connects to the front cylinder, the nuts are missing and the piece that holds it tight is sitting down on the header. so i'm wondering. did the shop have to loosen and forgot to tighten or rattle loose. you can see there was lock tight on studs. called shop, said didn't know if it was there fault but i could come get some new hardware. or take it there. fix it myself!!! |

There shouldn't have been any reason for the dealership to loosen or remove those nuts. Be thankful though, if only one had come off the odds are pretty good that the other stud would have broken off. It happens fairly often on the XBs, not enough for it to be considered an epidemic, but often enough to be well known. |
