No not White Castle Burgers! I am thinking of putting sliders on my bike but have some questions. 1: Do they reduce your lean angle? 2: The skate board wheels look like a good idea, what are the benefits of the machined ones over the skateboard wheels? Thanks for any info. |

Sliders will not decrease your lean angle. Your peg will touch long before the slider does. The advantage to the machined ones over the skateboard wheels is they don't look ghetto. Some claim the skateboard wheels can grip the road and toss the bike around, but I haven't read any convincing arguments to support this claim. |

The plastic used in typical skateboard wheels doesn't hold up as well as aluminum or hard plastics but the idea that they'd somehow get traction and cause the bike to flip is just nonsense. |

aside from protecting your own body [gear], the axle sliders and the frame pucks are far and away the best first investments / add-ons you can choose |

And to put a previous argument to rest once and for all... An XBRR with frame mounted hard sliders (welded on, not the pucks) was wrecked pretty hard... and as a result I got to see the *inside* of the fuel tank... Not a happy sight. The pucks would have done *much* better. |

I have the Dark Horse Moto sliders. The biggest difference is the construction. The sliders are connected via a high tensile stainless rod. Simple hardware from Home Depot won't hold up in a crash. The Dark Horse Moto sliders are also machined with a collar that slides into the axle to prevent them from shearing off due to lateral crash forces. Lastly, the "buttons" are delrin which is much harder and more durable in a crash than the plastic in skateboard wheels. Spend the money and get quality sliders. Anything less is just...well...less. |

Hi Rob, We have three versions of our sliders, one to fit any budget. All are made of top quality materials and all have unique features that make them fit the Buell XB line of bikes. We didn't adapt them from another bike. If you have any questions, please drop us a line. Here is a photo of our sliders after being low-sided at 80 mph by a CCS racer:

Cool you made cheap ones. I just ordered some for the front and back. I can't wait to put them on. Hope I don't crash in the meantime. |

If your frame IS banged up. They total the bike. Who wants a crooked bike when you can get a new one... |

I hadn't seen the red buttons before. Those look sharp! |

I hadn't seen the red buttons before. Those look sharp! Neither did I. Just ordered the red ones. They will look sweet with the red rings on the DeathRay setup. |
