Alright, here's my dilemma. I am currently running the Buell Race Kit Exhaust on my 9R. I have the Race ECM and air filter to go with it also. It is an obvious improvement overstock, but I started racing my bike this year in CCS, and I've really been hitting the dreaded flat spot in the torque curve. So after mulling over the exhaust shootout numbers I'm debating selling the Race pipe and getting the Micron full system, or even the Jardine RT-1. Both of these seem to be a bit better suited to what I'm looking for. The Micron seems to have the flattest curve, and doesn't taper off when you get close to red line. Anybody have any direct comparison experience between any of these three pipes? Also, would anyone be interested in buying the Race Kit Pipe? I'm just gauging interest here, the sale isn't a sure thing yet. But based on the way these things are selling on ebay, I think I should be able to get a pretty good chunk off of the Micron. I found there was a HUGE improvement with the Micron on the 9 from the race muffler. |

Tuned properly the Micron on the 9 will give you a huge increase in both HP and torque. Way more than the factory race kit. |

While I have heard NOTHING BUT GOOD about the Micron system (I pit with 2 guys who went from the "race" exhaust to Micron), if you're still running your stock suspension, I'd look there first before putting more money into the motor/exhaust. (yeah, suspension/brakes/handling is a personal crusade of mine... but if you could take 2-3 seconds off each lap without affecting engine reliability, wouldn't you?) ...but if you could take 2-3 seconds off each lap without affecting engine reliability, wouldn't you? Not just yes, but Hell, Yes! (Can't believe I just went to Mid-Ohio and didn't even do so much as change the damping from street-soft to track settings...) |

I have the full serpent system on my 12r. My buddy has the jardine on his. I wax him everytime. Of course the Open air box kit and tuned ECM help. From 3 grand and higher it pulls soo hard. When I hit the interstate I never realize I'm in 5th already cause it's still pulling that hard. |

+1 on the micron for the 12. I have the full serpent system on my XB12X and the difference is amazing. Maybe it's the 1250 kit, or the ported heads, or the American Sport Bike map and open air kit in combination with the micron, but like the man said from 3 grand up it pulls soo hard. |
