don't give up js, i know what it's like to pay on a car that you don't have. and i have had to work very hard to get the credit back. go get a second job or even a room mate. don't bring in some one you know because they can and most likely will take advantage of you and for someone you don't know, do a good backgound check. if you rent by the week without a lease you can get rid of someone a lot easier. my old boss found that out the hard way. |

You're making a bad situation worse! Quit talking to H-D credit! My gosh! All they care about is getting their money. They are like robots with programmed procedures they follow when customers call and say things to them. You need to make a decision: 1) Keep the bike and pay it 2) Sell the bike at a loss and keep paying the difference Personally, I think #2 is your best option. The lesser of the two evils I think. You will take a loss no doubt but you get to keep your good credit (hopefully). At your age and being on your own, good credit is all you've got, that and your job. I used to sell cars and I came across many people in the same situation as you. Many times, it was self-created. Then, other people, creditors and and car/bike salespeople, took advantage of it! It's sad but true. In the end, all you have is your common sense to bail yourself out. YOu don't have to sign any papers anyone just shoves in your face. YOu can always say no or you will think about it. Again, I apologize for the lecture. I just hate to see this happen to people. I can tell you KNOW what the right thing to do is. But I think someone needs to kick your ass to get you to do it! |

PLEASE, Don't sell your bike!!!!! I am here in Alabama as well. I can tell you, Geico killed progressive on my Insurance. I pay 1/8 th what the wanted. I have been where you are, you will regret selling your bike and paying for something you don't have. You really can save enough on Gas to pay for that bike along with coke/snack money. Just BOW-UP when everything comes down on you MAKE your destiny. Please feel free to email me jpainter@drummondco.com and I will help you anyway I can, My boy is about your age and he just got his first Buell to go along with his 69 mustang. Just don't let them have it back!! Please email me and I will send you a contact number to reach me. |

I too have been in tough financial situations. Usually of my own making. You know, it all works out on paper, but then something unexpected happens and all of a sudden the payments are tough to come up with. My advice to you is to cut all the corners you can and keep the bike if you possibly can. Otherwise you will take a huge loss and will be paying for something you don't even have. Take care of the bike so it doesn't end up in worse shape than it is in and ride it as much as you can to get at least some benefit from it. And make some phone calls to find some cheaper insurance. Allstate ended up being best for me, but I know it varies. I was paying about $600/yr for Progressive for my Harley and Allstate was less than $250/yr. Above all, don't take on any more debt until you get the bike taken care of and have some money in reserve. Good luck. Dan |
