First of all I thought I posted these last night. I don't see them know. If I am just dumb and I don't see them let me know and we can delete this thread. That being said I got some bar end mirrors and took some pictures of my bike last night. I think it looks a whole hell of a lot better. Really shows off the aggressive profile of the bike.

Bike looks good! I don't think the strips are "huge" for a street machine. |

Very nice. This evening shot just gave me an idea: Red seat rail seemed to complete the swoop of the chin fairing.
Not sure if I like or not. What do you think? |

Where did you got those mirrors at and how much? Your bike looks freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!! Those mirrors make it look SWEET!!!!! How user friendly are they though? is it still just as useful as the stockers? |

Your bike looks great. The XBS looks much better with bar end mirrors. I have been running a CRG bar end mirror on just the left side and think that it is better than stock. Smaller in size, less vibration, very adjustable, and looks great with the anodized finish. The price was a little much at $90.

The red strip of color under the seat helps a lot. Have you seen the 2008 models' "cheese grater" replacement? It solid now and colored. Maybe continue the red color somehow to tail, whatever you do to the tail? |

that bike is killer !!! the RED wheels really pop ! & i think the red seat rail will look good ,leave the tailight part in it's original color but paint the "rail" above it red ! |

I really have been trying to get rid of the chicken strips but to be quite honest I don't not have a lot of faith that the bike will be there for me when leaned over that far. It totally resists turning under braking and stands up mid corner at the slightest hint of brake. I really need to get rid of the Dunlops I guess. I hate to blame equipment but I just don't have the faith to lean it over that far. THe mirrors are just Third Eye bicycle mirrors from my local bike shop. About $12. They do not vibrate at all but are not very convex. They are slightly more useful than the stock mirrors. They do not vibrate but the field of vision isn't as wide. They look bad ass so I like them. I love the red seat rails btw. Really unique look. What have you guys been doing about the rear fender/ upper belt guard? Can you trim and sand it without it looking like a total hack job. I took it off and the bike look unfinished without it but stock is just too huge. SO yes the chicken strips are big but I am a newbie riding on the street. No need to go crashing just yet. Plus if I have a mid corner emergency I think the Dunlops will give way at the slightest hint of brake. so my entrance sppeds are usually way too slow. Any tips on how to get rid of them are appreciated. |

Oh yeah it is also snowing right now so the chicken strips will be there for at least another day. |

I dont like using anything but my own lack of skill or confidence as an excuse, but I will say this: when I switched from the original Dunlops fitted on my bike to Pirellis, it made a huge difference in the way it reacted to using the brakes in a corner. Not that it was unmanageable with the Dunlops, I just made sure I had the bike set up for a corner a little earlier. The Pirellis just added that much more flexibility in riding the bike through turns. As for the chicken strips, I know that they look cooler, the thinner they are, but a guy I ride with is probably one of the more aggressive riders I've ever known, and his chicken strips are at least two inches wide. He really hangs off of the bike, though, and it works well for him. Just stay within your comfort zone if those tires dont inspire confidence. That is way too sweet a ride to stack for the sake of proving your gut feeling was right. |

Got mine at a local bicycle shop for 12 bucks. Outstanding quality and looks as if it were made for the bike. |

Yeah I worked in a bike shop in high school so I have been trying to figure out how to use as many cheap bicycle parts on my scooter as possible. Especially after I saw the crazy high prices for bar end mirrors on American SPort Bike. |

Here's how it looks by trimming of the belt guard. Fender is still too big in my opinion so I ended up taking it all off. I'm pretty sure a 12S fender will fit with some trimming to go around the shock so I plan on trying that next. |

I'd leave the fender on. it looks good trimmed but the longer hugger is very nice. Notice how so many of the Moto GP bikes have similar equipment. it is there for a reason. Sticky tires and speed equal debris flying up in there. I wish the XB S & R's had bigger huggers. Boo-hoo |
