Got a call from Charlie (New12r) a few minutes ago.
He also posted this this in the 3%er's section.
Ok yall we need some prayers for Xbullet.

He was taken to Grady this morning after a nasty meeting with a fence. I have little details other than he prolly has some broken ribs, shoulder damage, and was conscious and telling folks he could feel his legs.

The how is still fuzzy but it looks like his chin fairing came off and bounced the back end into a tank slapper.

As I get more details I will keep ya posted.

I'll keep ya'll up to date as I hear how things are going.
As far as I've been able to find out, he was (as far as I know right now) he was in full gear.

Well folks, Brian is in surgery now, and it's going to be a long one. He's broken some vertebrae, and has to get it cleaned up, and some rods put in. He should be in a walker in a week or so. The bike, of course, is toast.
Y'all can go to the Storm Fronts section and check the 3%er's section for some details, although right now there are few.
Seems like maybe the chin fairing might have come off and gone under the back tire, causing a tank slapper, no one is really sure, but the chin fairing wasn't attached after the crash.
Hang tough, Brian!

Who knows at this point.
I'm thinking it will more a of question, will he really want to.

The surgery went well, with no surprises, and is on the road to recovery.
Brian is a very lucky man.

Brian's in for a long rehabilitation. The doctors replaced his fractured L1 vertebra and installed a metal rod to brace the damaged area. Recovery will take 6-8 months, but the good news is he will recover. It's possible he'll have some numbness in his extremities, but he'll definitely walk again.

Other than that, his only other major injury was a dislocated shoulder. He'll be moved to a spinal care recovery center in a few days and probably won't have any visitors until then.

Dan, Ryan, and I visited Brian at the Shepherd Center today. The facility rocks. I expected Brian to be stuck in bed, but they'd wheeled him out into a garden area where they were having a cookout. Here are Brian and his girlfriend Heidi:

I brought Brian some quality reading material:

After dogs and burgers, we hung out in the room for a while, and we marveled at the electric winch system built into the ceiling for moving patients in and out of bed.

Brian showed us his surgery scar, but I'm not going to post that picture. The scar looks fine, but the unshaven side of his chest makes it look like he ran into a buffalo instead of a fence.

Laughing hurts, but it's a good pain:

Brian stayed really positive the whole time, and we had a great conversation about bunny rabbits after his meds started to kick in. He doesn't know yet how long he'll be at Shepherd, but he vows he'll walk out under his own power. He said he was bored with work anyway, and he looks forward to the challenge.

Heidi's bringing him a laptop later this week, and Chez Shepherd has wifi, so we should see him back in the thread within a few days.

I'm praying for a speedy recovery.

For the times I've been down like that, broken bones, back and knee's, racing rc cars kept my wheels spinning.

That big black butt mag will sure help too.
One day at a time with small steps.

hey guys. i'm at shepherd center here in Atlanta and not only WILL i walk out of here, i WILL be buyin' an 1125R (or if it takes too long, the next incarnation) and you will see me in the north GA. mountains again and you Will see me on the racetracks.

i was wearing full gear, and even with fractured L1 and dislocated shoulder, there were no bruises or scrapes. and even though the helmet is now an adornment for the wall, it didn't suffer any new cosmetic damage. (how wild is that?!?!?)

i can feel/move my legs already, and once my right shoulder heals from being dislocated i'll be able to have a wheelchair without a motor on it.

the big question is whether or not in time the hot chicks in that magazine will make any difference, but hey.... all ya need are balls to ride. : )

thanks again guys
in good spirits,
Bullet
