Fiance' has a 06 Scg. She claims that the bike feels as if it is going to stall when starting from a full stop while engine is hot. I suggested that perhaps she should give it a little more throttle and I got "THE LOOK". Ya know the one that says "what kind of simpleton are you? Why don't you just listen to what I am saying". Anyway is this a problem (not the "LOOK")that indicates I need to do a TPS reset? I just got the cable and software from Al and wanted to do my Uly first so I wouldn't get the look again. I had her ride her bike at about 3K rpm to reset the AFV but we havn't had a chance to see if this worked or not. Thanks |

I'm overdue for a TPS reset by about 8000 miles. Started to get a small hesitation on the low end. Need to get that TPS and AFV reset. Will clear it right up. So in your case. Yeah, get the reset done. |

Pso, you need to ride her bike, and bring more info back. Does she do a lot of blippin the throttle when pulling out? She may be "inducing" a hiccup. I've noticed on my 9, that if I blip, blip, blip and release it will occasionnaly hiccup, if i just rev and release, ive never had a hiccup. Maybe blippin is loading up the plug with fuel or something. |

Here's a dumb question...How do you know when a TPS reset is needed? Check engine light? Or is it something that should be done annually? |

When low rpm throttle response get ordinary/jerky or it looses the idle. |

I had mine reset with the 1000 mile service. Now, it idles at about 1200 rpms and it is really hesitant to go over about 110. Before it was done it used to get up and go. Smoother than it was, but I lost some of the pickup when I got it back from the dealer. And this Mech supposedly knows Buells really well. May have to stage one this bike. It's worthless like it is now. Sportys are walking on me. |

Stretchman, If it was good before the visit to the Mech who supposedly knows Buells and now its is bad. He didnt do it right. This is why I do as much of my own stuff as possible. |

+1 on the TPS reset. Ok, a little rant here. HD techs have no clue, zero, zilch, nada about Buells. I had a moron at my local HD dealer try an tell me my 9S has an 883 motor. UHH, WRONG!!! It's a Buell 984 Thunderstorm, not a damn 883,heck, the rotation is 180* off compared to any HD. I am seeing this more and more. These lump fixers think they have a clue but just can't seem to muster an inclining when pressed into a corner, example above = Wrong TPS reset. I highly recommend learning it yourself or finding a REAL Buell tech to do the work. Because HD techs just don't (or can't) understand the complexities of our bikes. Ok, rant over Again, TPS needs a proper reset. (Message edited by luxor on September 06, 2007) |

My bike would "lull" when I would take off. Turned out one of my spark plug wares was a little crispy for some reason. Replaced it and now its running like a top and responsive... could be something as simple at a plug wire? |
