Make a nice drag bike BUT $13500 buy it now hahahahaha.
Man that $21000 he spent wasn't spent wisely. I'd pay the $5000 but no more than that. I like corners more than straight line riding.
Good Luck to whomever buys it.

"Stupid to the person that thinks its stupid. It opinion and that is that."

Well... that's his opinion.

Not everyone is going to admire fat tires and extended swingarms on these bikes, but I say let your freak flag fly. That's my motto...

... and opinion.

That thing is worth LESS than if he left it completely bone stock. Why do people spend a FORTUNE on ruining perfectly good motorcycles and then expect to get paid for it??

I'm curious why these guys bother... why not just get a cruiser and supe-up the engine? Is that not bad-boy-racer enough?

For my opinion its a little too long, but its awesome to see other people stretching buells. They are great bikes for cornering but some people like myself like them long and low so dont be ripping on people that like different bikes. Buell riders should know that anyway its bad enough that guys with crotch rockets rip on buells all the time.

Sometimes the swing arm serves a purpose. Drag bikes could benefit.

Sometimes modifications provide more style than purpose. Nothing wrong with that. How many lowered cars have you seen? They look cool, but they handle and ride like crap. Same with jacked up trucks.

If I didn't need the extended swing arm for purpose, I probably wouldn't opt to add one to my bike.

$21,000 invested. Buy it now for $13,500.
Someone should tell him that investments are supposed to MAKE money. Personally, I can't stand extended swingarms on sportbikes.

BTW, I'll be shocked the bid gets over 1/2 of $13,500.

Buelltroll, that's by and far the best looking extended swingarm I've seen on a Buell.
(crazy looking intake, though!)

All the others have looked like they were made from construction zone scraps.

That's stupid.

I don't see how this is stupid in any way. He has a Buell, which is already tourqey. He has a 40 shot of NO2, which will do even more to put you on your back. If the guy drags the thing, or just really likes going in straight lines, then how is it stupid?

I'm curious why these guys bother... why not just get a cruiser and supe-up the engine? Is that not bad-boy-racer enough?

??? How is this even relevant? Why didn't you just get a cruiser and supe up the suspension? People buy sports bikes for lots of reasons, not the least of which is weight - something cruisers don't exactly excel at.

So the kid did something different with the bike. He doesn't want to go through the twisties, just straight really fast. I don't see how that makes it stupid. Aren't our bikes branded as being different from the rest? Why doesn't that apply here?

The Wright Brothers were probably stupid too - should have just taken the train like everyone else.

It's not my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean I would feel justified in trashing it. It's not like it's a total cob job with a bunch of stupid crap hanging all over it.

Someone should tell him that investments are supposed to MAKE money.

Investments aren't supposed to do anything. You spend your cash on something and that's it. It's a plus when it provides more value than you spend - and the joy of riding a motorcycle can hardly by quantified into dollars and cents. How much did you pay for your bike? What's it worth now? Does that make it a bad investment to you?

Here here, it doesn't fry my bacon either, but I have to admit it's nicely done. I love that some of us are open minded enough to not bag on another guy's ride because it's not like we would have done it.

I thought the whole point of customizing a bike is to make it yours and nobody else's. My bike's mods are quite mild by comparison, but I'm sure some of you like what I've done to it more than others. I of course like to get compliments from other Buell owners on my bike, but when I don't the bike still makes me happy because it's mine and exactly the way I want it for the present. Now I do enjoy having other guys give me pointers on what I could do to it next. Trust me, I am always looking for ways to make the bike better.

You guys have a good Labor Day weekend.

Yes they are. Investment: the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.

I invested $0 in my motorcycle, I purchased it. Over time and miles it has depreciated, just as I expected.

Some people put ketchup on hotdogs, but I don't go up to them and say, "you're a freaking idiot", even though that's what I'm thinking.

Let me rephrase that; if I don't know them, I won't say anything. But if I know them, I'm going to have to say something... unless they're a lot bigger than me and it's obvious they're gonna hit me for bugging them while they're eating...

... like my dad did

Yes they are. Investment: the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.

Just because you "invest" into something does not make it an "investment". How would you classify someone who invests much of their time doing volunteer work? Surely they aren't getting more time back than they put in. The same is true here - just because he invested anything into the bike does not mean the bike itself was an investment.

Regardless, the bike was worth more to the rider with the modifications done than it was stock. What it's worth to anyone else is moot.

I invested $0 in my motorcycle, I purchased it. Over time and miles it has depreciated, just as I expected.

Now you're just trying to play with words. I bet you look at a share of stock as an investment - do you not also "purchase" that share? How about buying a piece of land as an investment? Did you not purchase that?

Even if your purchase vs. invest argument held water, I would assume that your total $0 investment in your bike means that you don't change the oil or fill the gas tank.

And, to top it all off - a bad investment is still an investment.

Not me.
That's why I bought a Buell.

going fast in a strait line (drag racing) requires different skills than road racing. line up a road racer next to a drag racer and he'll get his butt beat all day long.

Wrong again in some way's. You'd $hit to know how many Road Racer's also drag race to quicken there skill's at getting the Holeshot before turn 1. Lots of Road Racers sharpen there skill's that way.

Whoa, whoa, that's it! You wanna dance young man? : p : D As an owner of a lowered vehicle, let me just say, MINE doesn't handle and ride like crap. At least not because it's lowered, but because it is a '70 C-10. : D

"Some people think it's cool to go fast in a straight line(which requires sooooo much skill)."

It doesn't take any skill to go fast in straight line, you are correct sir. You just sit there and go.

However...

It does take skill to cut a good light and launch a bike at a dragstrip. You just don't dump the clutch and hope for the best when the light turns green, there is a lot more to it than that. I love the twisties, but my first real competition on pavement was bracket racing at the drags. Believe me, drag racing is a real skill and it's not hard to see why once you've tried it.

I doubt than most bikes I see on the street with extended arms are raced on the strip, but I can certainly understand the look they are trying to emulate.

I don't care for extended swing arms myself but, I understand the reason for it if you are into drag racing or just emulating the look.

I do think it is kind of convoluted though to take a bike which is a superb corner carver, albeit not much of a straight line performer, and ruin its cornering ability with an extended swing arm.
