Just wondering the Jugs and Pistons on the XBRR ,Will they fit on the New Xb Cases,as well as any other top end gear etc? | ||

Nope. Hardly anything will fit. Especially engine parts. There's a list I posted in the XBRR section that shows all the standard parts, it's not a very long list. The list for exclusive XBRR parts is very long. | ||

Found it. Here is the OEM parts list for the XBRR, everything else is exclusive to the XBRR. There's more information about the engine differences on the XBRR section. Looks like very little is XB engine.  | ||

Thanks Glitch, Just thought that since the New Xb`s have the different cam sections and covers and the larger Crank shafts etc.. and the Cam covers look the same as the XbRR now just thought something may fit like the XbRR cylinders etc... | ||

Didn't think of the new configuration at all  Still think they most likely wouldn't fit. I read somewhere the push rods are really really short, and some other internal things got moved around a little. | ||

Hi Glitch, Yeah I thought maybe you were still thinking of the 2007 and older ones, The new 2008 models are more like the XBRR cases... Just wondering, we may see some more stuff coming down from the XBRR that will fit on these newer cases? IF just changing the pushrods etc. and the XbRR jugs etc. would fit how nice that would be....I guess anything is possible at this point.... | ||

While the oil pumps and crankpin are very similar, the cylinder stud pattern on the XBRR and '08 XB engine differ. The '08 XB stud pattern is the same as with previous engines, while the XBRR actually shares its stud pattern with the big-bore JIMS engine (120ci) offered by Harley-Davidson P&A. Consequently, not a lot of parts interchange in the top end. It would be possible to put a close-ratio XBRR gearbox in standard XB cases, and, with some work on the crank sprocket, mount the lightweight alternator and magnesium primary cover on a '08 XB. | ||

Hey Anony,Think Buell might offer it in a yr or 2? Or are we stuck with the 5 spd? I'll be needing a new bike in a couple of yrs. I'd almost believe you could get the current engines to 125hp(using the 9 motor of course). Man, 125 hp, 8000 rpm redline,6 spd tranny, I'll be happy with that. It'll need a 150+ mph top speed. Don't you guys be spending all your time on the 1125r, us aircoolers, we got needs too.  | ||

Hogs, I can prove Anony´s words to be true regarding the fact that the XBRR engine has a different stud pattern. I have an XBRR engine on the bench. I can not prove that the 08 XB models have the same pattern as the older models as I haven´t seen any 08 engine disassembled but from simple logic I´m 99.9% sure that they do. They still have the 3.5" bore and I´m sure You will find the same part number for 08 cylinders as for earlier ones. BTW in 07 the intake port design was changed. Hogs, You´re welcome. As I´m not an official sponsor I can´t post a link (otherwise someone will probably execute me). But don´t worry, You wouldn´t find much on my web site anyway as I don´t have any time to work on it (just some pictures of our drag bike from two years ago). Heads and engines, engines and heads day in day out. No time for other things. Btw, our street 90" runs pretty stable and I finished WOT tuning on the other 90" (which has non stock cams,more radical head work and throttle body rework). Everything works just fine with stock injectors, stock fuel pump and stock ECU (sure I reprogrammed it) but there is still a safety zone before hitting the range limits of the injection system. JWhite, the XBRR trans is still a 5 speed,it is the 1125R that is a 6 speed so the close ratio he is refering to is still a 5 spd. |
