New user from Sweden here. Need to work a little on my XB12S 2004 after some contact with the asfalt... Is the gas in the left, right or both sides of the frame/tank? Are the headers of XB9 and XB12 the same? Or are the 12's larger diameter? Thanks in advance for info! /Björn |

I think the fuel is on the Left side only and that the headers ARE different. It appears that the left side of the frame is thicker.. I too came into some contact with the asphalt (on both sides) and only the right side deformed. And Most of the guys I ride with have XB9s and i know for a fact that my pipes are bigger. |

Gas is on both sides and XB9 header will not work on a 12. |

I believe the XB9 headers= 1.5" diameter and the XB12 headers= 1.75" diameter. |

FYI.. The headers are different yet interchangeable, but will make the bike perform poorly without proper engine and fuel map modifications(dyno tuning with Direct Link by a trained professional) |

It seems to me, after carefully analyzing your replies, that there is gas in both sides of the frame and that the XB9 headers are of a smaller diameter than XB12. Thanks for the info! Now I just need to get a set of right sized headers and make to use chemical metal as the first layer in my tank/frame restoration. |
