Hey all! I am considering some Crossroads 7 degree down bars for some spirited riding/track days. I only ride occasionally now and wouldn't mind the sportier position. My question is how much does this degrade the comfort level (like say for a 200 mile ride to meet up with Mama and the kids in my hometown, they usually leave before I get home from a trip to maximize Grandparent time for my folks). I would like the position of them, but do not want to give up too much comfort. The bike is great as is, but, well, you know how it is.....just gotta tinker a bit and make it new again. Thanks and ride safe. Never Give Up! |

I have had the -7 degree down bars on my 2004 XB12S for almost 18,000 miles now. I do a lot of 200+ mile rides with no problem in comfort. Also put on a cityX seat for those rides that make you set up a little higher with a bit more lean forward angle. I like them a lot. More aggressive for cornering. Have never rode a bike with the 0 degree's just sat on it and liked the -7 feel better. I am 5'9" |

"Also put on a cityX seat for those rides that make you set up a little higher with a bit more lean forward angle." Interesting. I have an M2 with -7 Crossroads and use the standard M2 and M2L seats (it's scooped out lower) to vary the riding position depending on where I'll be riding. Bikes really aren't one-size-fits-all. I think tailoring the bars, pegs and seat height for your riding style is as important as dialing in your suspension correctly. |

I have the -7 degree bars, too. When I plan to ride out of town, or for any long distance, I slap on a pair of CrampBusters. They're only around $10 and worth every penny. There is another product on the market similar to this. I think it's called Throttle Rocker 2. |
