Will it work on a 2006 City-X? I know it doesn't list it on the web site but I thought I would throw it out there. Why won't work if not? |

I thought it was an option for all 08's... From what I under stand is all the new 08 have a plug for the option... So you would have to do some get power to it.. I'm curious if the plug for the heaters splices off the headlight harness.. Check the link this how I got power to my accessories.. |

Yeah 2008 models are plug & play from what I understand. 2003-2007 you're probably better off with polly heaters. The 2006 & 2007 Uly must be pre wired as well because on the Buell website it say the heated grip kit works for all "08" XB models and 2006-2007 XB12X. Fits '06-'07 XB12X and '08 XB and 1125R models. Stock on '08 model XB12X. |

To me they aren't worth $187, even if they plug right in. The price is on par with other manufacturers factory heated grips but they don't have a variable heat controller. Hi and low is all you get. If you were to add a variable heat controller you would lose the plug and play compatibility of the grips. For $187 you could get any set of aftermarket heated grips and add something like a heat troller and still be way ahead in most cases(cost wise). That's just me though. Heated grips are easy to install so the integration isn't a concern. |

Just got the new Buell heated hand grip kit and installed them on my 2006 Uly. The install was quick and easy and they work great. If anyone would like to read the eight page instructions, I made them in to a pdf file I could send anyone wanting them to read. |

Trapper - many thanks for the PDF... looks do-able for earlier XBs, with some digging required to create the required AUX power connector. Maybe someone from the factory will give us a hint about the required connector and pins/sockets. Based on the instructions, the kit is worth the price (at least to me) because of the additional forethought to help us get the job done: the new RHS switchgear, handlebar drilling jig, even the drill bit. |

I installed the heated grips on Saturday. For them to be plug and play you need the power outlet that the Uly has. I like the way the switch looks, they do cost a bit but I feel they are worth it. |
