How cool is it when Da Man hisself replies to an email you sent him? Long story short, I got this quote from Erik regarding the '08 XB line: The new 12R's are really refined; I am sure you will love it. I also think this is the best looking year for them ever. I feel like a 5 year old waiting for Santa. |

It's even better when you are sitting at a table at the track and he comes and sits down by you and talks with you and your friends for a good long while The atmosphere Erik has fostered in the company has lead to a great family feeling. He REALLY wants to know what we as Buell fans and owners have to say. It's not only him either, it's everyone I've met in the organization. There is a reason that being an engineer at BMC has become my personal brass ring. It's the kind of environment that encourages independant thought and innovation instead of re-treading old ideas because "it's always been done that way" Erik is a genuine good guy. It's not often that guys like him don't end up getting broken down by the beuraucracy or had the spirit crushed out of them by the corporate climbers. He is a rare commodity that is getting rarer in Corporate America...An original thinker. Rock on Erik and the Elves in East Troy and around the world! Dare to continue to be different(in every sense)! |

Erik has been fantastic about replying to my emails. I don't see how he has time to run a business, direct the design/redesign of several motorcycles, perform in a band, put out a CD with said band, AND have a family. I guess he never sleeps? |

I have sent Erik some e-mails and he always personally responds, well 3 out of 4 times. What a great guy and great company. Because of Erik and his welcoming, approachable style, I am proud to be a member of the Buell family! Thanks Erik! --Sean |

You guys are sooooooooooooooooooooo lucky! I tried sending him and e-mail once and got this reply.
quote:"Please do not direct correspondence directly to our Chief Technical Officer. All contact with customers must be initiated and conducted through our Office of Public Information. If we have any opinions or there is anything you need to know, they can provide you with the appropriate form letter".
But, I heard he's a really nice guy.

By the way . . . the 1125R has stolen some of the spotlight from the 2008 models but I can tell you that the 2008 models are INCREDIBLE and a fitting product for the 25th year of Buell. Very refined stuff. . . And . . . best of all . . . I GOT HEATED GRIPS! |

And . . . best of all . . . I GOT HEATED GRIPS! You are in for a real treat. After having owned 5 BMWs (and a Wing) - all equipped with heated grips, I swore I'd never buy another bike without 'em. I'm planning to add them to Firebolt when it comes in. |

I am leaving the office in 5 minutes . . . to spend an afternoon riding. My current ride has heated grips and I think they are the neatest thing since sliced cats. My next bike will have them as well . . . THANKS ELVES! |

>>>>Court - Did you actually buy it yet? No. I've made an inquiry to find when local dealerships are getting the two Buells I'd like to buy. I'm close and feel the "need".

>>>> relive some of your younger years Court Look . . . you're young . . . you don't want that. . . I can't handle it and Ames SURE doesn't want it. At the time I was competing the Cyclones were the #1 Team in the country. Most my memories of coming to Ames were of getting my ass kicked by guys who I'd get to see on TV in the Olympics. Then the two kids I'd been training, Dan and John Copeland, both took full rides to ISU and excelled. . . . . Ames, by the way, was a great town and I'd wager it still is. Court |

Court! Just let me know what colors your're looking for (I know one of the colors) and we'll get you what you want ASAP. I have a more reliable mobile phone now so feel free to call or send off a message. Ryan & Ant can get your requested bikes here ASAP. And to add to the topic, the 2008 XB lineup is the best ever! From mechanical to cosmetic, you just can not beat a Buell now. Does no more TPS resets & no more static timing sound good? It should! Hit the button & ride! Just keeps getting better & better! Chris, Any chance you could open a dealership here in North Texas? We could sure use a dealer that is excited about the product! (Oops, didn't meant to ) |

I've made an inquiry to find when local dealerships are getting the two Buells I'd like to buy. You could always buy it from a dealer 1000 miles away, and ride it home for your first service. |

I'd love to buy a Uly from across the country but I think it would be a hassle to register in California. |
