Hey guys, I hate to beep the stock horn, who knows of some good horns that replace the old Beep beep unit and give it some DEEP roar and LOUD?? |

YEah, the Stebel Nautilus Compact was VERY LOUD, but now mine is half broke, only the high tone is working on my XB installation. The one on Ducati is working 100% and does get some attention. Moose absolutely PANIC at the sound, even dogs are pretty annoyed by it. I do plan to buy another, and hope it will last longer than 2 weeks. |

Any links for any of these. I looked at some a while back, but I want one I can still hide behind the flyscreen. I don't want a big one that has to be mounted somewhere out in the open. |

Those horns both look very interesting. Never heard of either one of them. How did you guys mount yours? Any chance of getting some installation pix? Thanks! (Message edited by gentleman_jon on July 18, 2007) |

Any mounted on a S model? Not much room for a Stebel horn. Pics please. |

I guess I'm kind of old-school: I like the Plymouth Roadrunner Beep-Beep horn. Coming from Japanese bikes, the horn on the Buell is downright loud by comparison. No complaints here -- other than the horrible bracket. |

Mine is mounted on the right fork, just hanging out in the breeze. I know, it looks ugly.. but when I have Phaser lock on a Mommie in a minivan, I love the effect it has on her hairdo ! |

I installed the horn from an M2 Cyclone on my '04 XB12R Firebolt. You have to bend the mounting bracket slightly, but otherwise it fit perfectly in the stock location. I don't know if it's actually louder, but it has a much less embarrassing tone. |

http://www.bikerhiway.com/index.php?main_page=prod uct_info&cPath=29&products_id=74&gclid=CL6_35SPxIo CFSJcgQodeSLSfw Here ya go buddy. I squeezed one behind the flyscreen on my S, but I've got a Uly flyscreen. It just barely fits. Had to move some wiring around and you have to be careful not to pinch the cables, but she'll fit. Otherwise, you can take the horns off the compressor and mount them behind the flyscreen and mount the compressor in the airbox. It's loud enough to make your ears ring with the flyscreen off. With everything mounted in place, it's still as loud as any vehicle on the road at 139db. |

I think I might try this one from Harbor Freight, BadBoy: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem. taf?Itemnumber=94117 |

The Stebel Nautilus Compact airhorn will probably fit behind the flyscreen on a stock XB, but i had already removed my stock horn from that location because the barely adequate sound was muffled by the flyscreen, and that area was better used for HID headlight ballast and a tire plug repair kit. I have my airhorn mounted on right side of bike, in location formerly occupied by the plastic right side air-deflector thing that did not seem to be doing anything important. |

I have one of those Stebel Nautilus horns on my Miata. It's nice and loud. Personally, I would avoid that Harbor Freight knock-off that costs more and has a lower DB rating. |

I used a stock horm from a tube frame as well. For $8 it is plenty loud, easy to get, fits right in. Now it sounds more like a Cadillac instead of a moped. The XB stock horns are embarrassing. |

The Stebel fits under the flyscreen of a Uly. I have mine crammed in there with an HID igniter (ballast under tank), Heatroller, and several relays. Plenty loud even through the plastic, makes the absent minded cages spill their coffee. (Message edited by paochow on July 19, 2007) |

I put (crammed) the Stebel Compact Horn behind the flyscreen on my '04XB12S. I disconnected the compressor from the horn and used a short piece of tubing. The horn is in the same location as the original and the compressor is on the far right. Sorry, no pics...and yes it is friggin loud even though it gets a little muffled.. |

Thanks Guys, Lots of Info here.. Just wonder though, Since I have the R model wd. it be more or easier to install one of them Stebel units somewhere.... Since I don`t use the factory left side air scoop that funnels air up through the frame etc wonder IF one of them suckers wd. fit in the frame hole.. OR as ya say mount the compressor under the air cover and install the horns down in there.. |

By the way, when I purchased my Stebel Horn the reseller mentioned that the compressor needs to be installed vertically to avoid premature failure. He had about 9 of them that were returned and all of them were installed vertically.. |

Can the compressor be mounted in another location and the horns be mounted else where by connecting a hose etc, and would that lose any volume from the horns..? |

I heard that the current horns are VW horns. Anybody else hear this? IIRC my horn is marked "Made In Germany". Don't recall seeing a VW logo on it. |
