Hunt up the exhaust shootout Al did. It has full dyno's for all sorts of combos With a Micron or a Drummer, custom intake, and a custom map from American Sportbike, you can probably flirt with 100 RWHP on a 12s and not make the bottom end power nearly as bad as that 600 . You may be looking at $2000 before you are done though. From there you can go to higher displacement jugs and pistons, and custom heads, and flirt with 110hp (with decreasing reliability). I wouldn't bother anymore. Keep riding and sell the 12r and get the 1125r in october. You will get a lot more for a lot le$$. |

i hate the look of the 1125r although i do love the rotax motor. so, you're saying it might be around 115 crank hp? that's fine. i just started looking today. i went to a dealer and sat on an 07 a couple hours ago. i'm in love. |

I love my 07 but if I were going to do it again I'd wait for an 08 as it has a nice list of internal upgrades. Noting power wise just user friendly and reliability wise. I've ridden all the modern Jap rockets and I don't miss the top end power. The Buells make TONS of fat tq power that is usable on the street even if you do have to shift a bit more often. |

The Buell ECM,FILTER & Pipe upgrade runs well under $1K. I can't stand riding my buddys Rice Burners anymore, there is absolutely no low end. I honestly thought the clutch was slipping it was so bad on my buddies 07 R1. |

what is the "buell race kit" ? many people refer to it in the classifieds. is it a factory option exhaust/filter/ecm? does anyone think i stand the slightest chance of picking up an 06 xb12s for $6k over the winter??? is there going to be an xb12s with the 1125r motor??? if so i will wait and buy that new the day it comes out. |

"what is the "buell race kit" ? many people refer to it in the classifieds. is it a factory option exhaust/filter/ecm? " ========= You are correct: 1)The Buell "Race" exhaust (which I just bought here used for $200 shipped, I might add). Discontinued manufacturing of this due to EPA mumbo jumbo... 2)The Buell "Race" ECM. Still available. Retails for "around" $220 or so...? Seen on ebay for $150ish used. (Check the sponsors here of course) 3)The K&N filter. Still available. Around $50-$60 "or so". I *think* the Race kit retailed in the low $600 range. I just saw one go on ebay for over $1500, though (new). Quite ridiculous, to say the least, when all you'd REALLY need to hunt down is a new race exhaust. The rest is still available, as i stated... |

You really ought to look into the dyno shootout. Go to http://americansportbike.com/ and click on "The long awaited XB Exhaust Shootout Test Report is here!!!" on the front page. It is really helpful and will help you see how the different pipes perform. |
