This an understatement, but the best I can come up with. The last several months I have been in SoCal for work and found my way to Willow Springs Raceway. I have never met a nicer bunch of folks in my life. Slaughter and the head of the Slaughter household (Mrs. Slaughter) took care of me like I was their long lost relative. Ernie, Don and the guys from Glendale HD were awesome. The Bartels folks, so nice. All of the other Buell folks, I'm sorry I cannot remember all of your names, made sure that I felt like one of the gang. Always plenty of food, water, good conversation, some BS and bad jokes to go around. Not to mention, some very fine riding from the guys. Several podium finishes, they should all be congratulated. I had a great time, and am sorry that I have to leave. But, you can bet that I will plan any business trips around the 3rd week of each month. Thank you for your kindness and friendship. What else would you expect from a bunch of Buellers. Later, Joe |

Is this related to the "Buell Track Day" I read about in Motorcycle Consumer News? Can't remember if the dealer mentioned was Bartel's. I'm a long way from there but I'd love to get something like that going on here in hills. |

Wow - thanks for the compliments (hardly deserved though) Phil - this is NOT the Buell Track day that is coming up through the Factory (though we cannot WAIT for the Buell track day!!). These were the regular Willow Springs races. It just happens that we've got a pretty unique group of folks who've been riding together for years now and rather than canyon racing have decided to "take it to the track." We've got people from Glendale and Bartels and soon-to-be Victorville (when they get Buell sales started) - and possibly Lancaster. It was good seeing you again, Joe. You gotta stop hanging around so much, folks are gonna start missing you back home! (Message edited by slaughter on July 24, 2007) |
