That looks bad a$$. What type of bulb did you have to put in there? I've been looking to put a bulb in that little socket, but don't know what bulb number it is. Does that just come on when you have the key turned over to parking? |

Bulb is a 194 and can be found in different colors at most auto part stores. I have a six color L.E.D bulb in mine. It changes color about every five seconds. |

That's pretty cool. Will this work if the wires were switched around to make both lights come on as the high beam? |

07xb12scg, it sure should. The socket is already factory wired so the twinkle bulb is always on in either high or low beam. Another cool thing is that it's also a parking light. When you turn your key to park position you have light up front too, not just the tail light. (Message edited by luxor on July 22, 2007) |

I think that led is 5 points. Four around the circumference and one out the front or top. You can get them with more. Found those online somewhere. |

I've seen them on bikes on the road a couple of times. Are any bikes in the US coming with these stock now? |

How freaking cool!!! i would have never ever noticed that socket! I ordered a blue 5-LED 194 off ebay for 10 bucks (shipped) last night. can't wait to see what it looks like :-) And i know i sound stupid here, but whats the twinkle bulb for? and why is it missing? |

The twinkle bulb has something to do with European TUV specs or something, all I know is they are required to have a front marker lamp on their bikes. As for legal here in the USA? Yep, totally legal. But BE CAREFUL, the police frown on Blue and Green. Blue is for emergency vehicles only, and Green means go of course. Just depends on where you are and what kind of mood the officer is in I use an ultra bright white LED, supplies fill light to the lamp that isn't on, either hi or low. As for why USA bikes don't have them? I am not sure, might be cost, might be for ease of part ID at the warehouse. (Message edited by luxor on July 24, 2007) |

And i know i sound stupid here, but whats the twinkle bulb for? and why is it missing? Twinkle bulbs are exactly what they sound like - bulbs that "twinkle" or flash constantly. I've seen a couple of bikes that have them and the flashing definitely gets your attention as they are headed towards you. As for why USA bikes don't have them? I am not sure, might be cost, might be for ease of part ID at the warehouse. I'm guessing that Buell just didn't put them in there because they're not required in the US. The DOT might also frown upon these bulbs in stock bikes? I'm not sure and what's why I asked. |

alright so i got my bulbs in. installed them and nothing. i know the bulbs work as i tested them on another circuit. do i have to jump a wire or get a different relay? all my electrical test equipment is at work, one day i'll remember to bring it home and chase the dead wire. but in the mean time any help? it is a USA bike. did the leave the harness to it dead? thanks!!!!!! |

rah777777777 , if you are using an LED bulb try "turning the bulb around" (some LED "s require correct polarization ) |

Are these bulbs on steady, or do they twinkle off and on or just a steady glow? |

In the US.. In MOST states (not sure about all of them) but blue and red flashing lights of any kind on a vehicle in motion are considered EMERGENCY VEHICLES - meaning if you have all red, you are fire/rescue - all blue, police, red/blue police/other law enforcement. IF you are stopped while in motion with these lights on, you may be charged with impersonating an officer. In Virginia - Yellow is for roadside service / emergency Purple is funeral procession. Red - primary is fire & rescue or certain police functions (chaplains use red and white or purple and white) Blue is police Green is 'command center' for emergency/rescue vehicles. Usually, flashing colored lights may only be used on a 'show' bike while it is stationary and within the context of the 'show'. If you're on the road, or appear to be headed to the public roads and any of these lights are displayed, you can be ticketed. White lights are not to flash forward, however may be steady burn (headlight) and there may be up to 4 forward lights (two headlights, two fog lights) mounted on a motor vehicle (over that number forward facing the 'overage' lights must be covered or disconnected from power sources while on the state or federal roads (off road they may be used) - Modulated headlights are legal in VA so long as they are only used after sunrise and prior to sunset. Strobing white lights may not be used on a 'non emergency' vehicle while in motion at any time. Please check your state code before you add blinking, flashing or what have you colored lights as the bling factor may not be worth the jail time you could be setting yourself up for. |

when its on with the headlight, you can barely see any color. and since it does not blink or strobe, its not very noticeable. with the headlights on you get a slight blue tint in the highbeam side, but thats about it. were not riding around with the main headlights off, showing our bling lights off. i don't think we have anything to worry about. but i guess you never know these days. if i remember i'll post a pic with headlamps turned on tonight. |

I love the look!!! can anyone tell me or even show me in some pictures how to switch around the wiring so that both head lights come on at the same time, with the high beam so I can get my 9SX to look like that with an LED on low beam... Thanks guys. |
