Anyone ride one yet?? I am really quite torn between a new Firebolt or the 1125R. I love my 04 'bolt. With the Drummer I get so many looks.. It is my daily ride 100kms (~60 miles) round trip to work. I know I don't ride it to its true potential but the 1125R looks so DAMED sexy. There have been so many refinements to the XB's in '06 and now in '08. How is the new DDFI III? How is the new redline? Can you tell the difference? |

I'm interested to see how much difference that higher redline makes. As Blake pointed out shortly after the details were released, this might make for significantly quicker bikes. The increased redline lets you rev just past the power peak, whereas before the power peak was at redline. Ideally you nail the shift just past the power peak to minimize how far the RPMs drop below the power peak after the shift. Of course, riding a Buell with 10,500 RPM redline should be pretty cool too. Test rides are gonna be REAL interesting this year. |

I say if you are happy with your 04 and you don't use all of it's abilities, keep it. I love my 04. No payments, no need for a new bike. I'll wait until the 1125R gets some revisions next year or the following. By then there will be plenty of aftermarket parts too. |

Sorry Cgocifer but all the improvements are easily enough to convince me it is time. The white speed triple the local Truimph dealer had gave me a chubby and now with the white 'bolt and 25 year anniversary and no TPS resets, better fuel injection, easier clutch, new transmission, etc... |
