Here it is, finally!! I now have the long swingarm mounted but am still waiting for the final piece to finish the shock modification. I initially ran the long swingarm using a stock XB rear shock that is longer than the Scg shock by about 3/4". It still lowered the bike from the stock height but looked great!! Between the longer travel of the stock shock and the lower stance, the swingarm would hit the fuel line under full compression. I had to think of something different, so I designed an extended mount for the stock shock that made up for the difference in swingarm geometry. The first design is what is in the pictures. It is an aluminum block with two tie-rods that allow for ride height adjustment. The only problem is that the larger mount does not allow the spring to slide over for reassembly I guess my two brain cells were not working together when I came up with that design!! So I am waiting for my brother to machine a new mount that is an extended copy of the stock mount. Yay for cool brothers that work at machine shops!! If you look at the close up shots of the chain drive you will see a chain guide from the XBRR. It bolts right up to the long swingarm and adds loads of comfort when riding down the road with a long and heavy metal rope slinging around behind you!! You will also see the new water injection tank. It holds five quarts (150% larger than the last design) and is much easier to access!! That water should last between 6-9 fuel tank fill ups!! I have also converted back to the Lightning front end. I really prefer that position and look!! As soon as the new shock mount is finished I will reassemble the shock and send it to Traxxion Dynamics in Georgia to have it recharged and then I will be back on the road!!! YAY!!

Why don't you go ahead and sell me that bike, you'll never ride it again once you get the 1125R. |

Beautiful bike! Awesome looking, in fact. I've got a Lightning Long (XB12Ss) and have been wondering if the shorter swingarm from a normal XB would fit it. That would quicken the steering as well as making the bike far more willing to wheelie (more like my Bandit 1200S). Would it be a bolt-on? Could I just swap out the belt for the shorter one from the normal XB? Any thoughts from anyone? |

Thanks everyone! Fmaxwell, Your shock mounting is different as well. You would have to change the swingarm, drive belt, belt tensioner, and you would have to mount a different (shorter) shock to maintain stock ride height. |

Darn, that's nice work. Gives me ideas for juicing up an aging XB9R. Are you using the hole in the frame for the intake duct? I'm thinking there'd be enough interest in your project that motorcycle performance magazines would pay you big bucks for a step-by-step how-to pictorial. Or post it here for peer review. |

That thing is just cool. The photos are probably the only time where the front tire is in contact with the pavement!!! I would have to think folks would plunk for a kit if you put one together. Pretty amazing work. |

The hole in the frame is where the intake plumbing goes up to the throttle body. I will soon try to get the bike in some magazines but not until every detail is finished!! |

The wave rotor is 1/2 lb lighter than the stock one. I will shoot some video on the bike in just a few weeks!! I can't wait!! I have not had any problems with the license plate location yet. Only time will tell! |

I run my plate there as well Blake... Only one officer decided to be a punk and gave me a ticket for it. $140 later and it's still there. No worries . |

No_Rice runs his plate there too, I was actually surprised at how visible it was from behind on the road. As long as there is a light on it, and you keep it reasonably clean it shouldn't attract too much negative attention. |
