What the hell is wrong with me??? This is supposed to be easy, right? Black wire goes on left flasher wire, white goes on the right flashing wire, red to the running/brake light. The flashing wires in the back are the blue ones... the left blue goes into the purple, the right blue goes into a dark grey. I tested them both with the voltmeter. NOTHING. Total nada. What's wrong with this piece of crap?!?!? I was REALLY hoping to have this ready for tomorrow night, but it obviously isn't gonna happen. Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong? Does the SignalMinder unit have to be plugged in place of the stock flasher to get this to work? I tried that as well, but nothing happened (again). Some help ASAP would be greatly appreciated! ~SM |

http://www.kisantech.com/brochures/SM-inst-manual. pdf Can't help with the wiring since I don't own an XB and have no idea what the wiring diagram looks like. Above is a link for the Signal-Minder installation info. |

Ok looking briefly at the manual RAgnar found. My first question is what mode are you trying to use. |

I'm trying to rig up the SM-1 that I got from American Sportbike. Here are the instructions I have, pulled from that PDF above. I wired it just like it says. When I used the voltmeter to check for flashing hot wires on the rear blinkers, it was the blue wire on each blinker. So I clipped them in, and nothing. I only want the running lights, not all the other funky stuff, so I didn't actually install the SM-1 in place of my original flasher box. The instructions aren't clear if it's necessary or not. So after my initial attempt didn't work, I plugged the whole unit in and tried it again, still with zero results. I have no idea what's going on, unless I have a faulty box. ~SM

If I am reading the directions correctly it replaces the turn signal module completely. |

Okay, bumping this again in hopes that one of the many people that recommended the SM-1 unit in the first place will chime in with some helpful hints. I really hate to have blown $100 on a piece I can't get to work.... ~SM |

First step, throw scotch locks in TRASH. I would rather see someone use a plastic shielded but connector with half the wires not crimped, and no electrical tape or shirnkwrap then a scotch lock. my advise is redue those scotch lock connections with simple metal Butt connecters then heat and add solder and tape it up, or if your fancy shrink wrap it. then take it from their. |
