not sure how many miles (lots) been riding since i was 12. went down about 1.5 years ago took a left hand curve leaned over too far and hit loose gravel and slid slid off in to the grass but i got up and was riding the rest of the day the only thing that was wrong with the bike was the plastic was messed up but the bike i was on was already scratched on that side so it made no big difference to me. I was just mad that i scratched up my brand new jacket and face shield on my helmet (i had bought them the day before.) |

wow seems that there is alot of gravel vics here!! and only a few wheelie tip overs/backs??? what gives?? either people arent tellin the whole story or are boring? J/K. no clue on miles under my belt, race track ones dont count far as I can tell but I have been down damn near every way possiable high and low side, back and front, wheelie and stoppies and even went superman style once over the bars after a one footed wheelie didnt go as planned!!! have road rash scars on both forearms burn marks from pipes on my right leg and a 1 ish inch scar over my left eye!! umm only broke knuckles as far as bones go, destroyed two helments, two textile jackets one set of leathers one race suit, three belts (saved hips i think) and a few pairs of boots. Im 28 I gotta belive that the older guys have a longer list than that??? |

First bike (125 4 stroke, single cyl) => 1st day Second bike (Freewind) => first couple of weeks Third bike (Zr-7S) => first couple of months (actually I wasn't on the bike, damn cobblestones...) The first and only fall with this one I was riding on the snow, it was fine (55MPH even) while on the road but the first low speed left turn into town got me down. Fourth bike (Katana) => After 6 months, took a turn wide carrying too much speed and ended on the grass Fifth (XB9R) and Sixth (Triumph 955i Tiger) => Didn't go down yet after 1 year and around 4k mi on each. Note that many of the falls were "side stand falls". I also had 2 accidents with another vehicle involved, never at fault. |

10 years of riding experience and 2000 miles of fun on the 03 XB9S. Just had a new rear tire put on and took a slow left turn with a little too much grunt. Down we go! |

300 miles, failed to make a down hill turn and went off the road. rolled a ways than slammed into the ground on the left side four or five times. pushing on the bars left and right on the 12s at speed does not do much to turn the bike! |

1st was during my second riding season. Hugh wheelie in town on a GPz900ZX. When I sat the front tire down I had 1 block to stop and was doing about 130 if I remember correctly. During the braking I hit something on the road where the cars had been sitting at the stop sign (you know how some cars drip oil and what have you) and went down between 50 and 60. She almost went in the town fountain. 2nd was 2 seasons later on a 91 zx7. We were running from the PO-PO and I had been leading for a bit. I slowwed down and was doing more watching behind me than in front, trying to make sure everyone else was making it OK when I hit a right hand corner at about 45 the entire inside of the corner had just been patched. I ended up hitting a RV head on. Luckily he was going slow and stopped. I'd say I hit him at about 30. I slid up the windsheild and hit the sleeper. I landed on my feet beside the drivers door. I happened to know the guy so with a quick explination I was on the go before the PO showed up. It cost me a grand to fix the RV and I lot to fix the ZX, but I did evade the ticket. Young and stupid. What can I say. These were both over 10 years ago. I now ride with some respect and have logged many miles. I commute 50 miles to work and back as often as possible. I've been on cruizers. This year I bought a xb12r and love it. |

Yesterday was my first time down on the street, there was gravel on one side of the road and sand on the other. I noticed the gravel but missed the sand, front end slipped away said hello to the pavement slid 30 feet. Nothing too eventful, it was very peaceful... GEAR IS WONDERFUL, I am just a little sore but not a scratch can be found on my body. This summer would be start of my 9th year of riding, and I have probably covered 50K...? |
