Hello Bryan, Welcome aboard. Normally Bad Webbers call the tail on a Lightning the "Cheesegrater". If you go to the top of this page, you will find in colored letters "Google Badweb" Click on that, and then enter "Cheesegrater" in the top box, and click on " Google Search" You will get a lot of threads like this: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/250707.html?1168827717 This subject as been discussed many times. There are basically two approaches. 1. The guys who are handy, usually chop it themselves. 2. Otherwise, Odie, one of our sponsors,( Special Ops), listed in the red lettered sponsor section in "topics" on this site, will do a great job on your tail for a reasonable price. Or you can buy one already chopped from Trojan Motors. just my .02ยข |

These are two I've done. Pretty simple the first time. And even easier the second time. I used a saw-z-all, a metal cutting hacksaw, then a grinder to finish it off. I actually found that using the hacksaw for the whole process was the easiest and you didn't make any unnecessary cuts. |
