Aprilia Shiver 750 twin. First ride report. Could be some new competition in the middleweight twin department. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/06june07_2007aprili a_sl750shiver.htm |

Higher sticker price, more service intervals, not as user friendly, not made in America..... What competition? |

Where did you get any of that info? Besides service intervals I don't see any of that being an issue. |

I love the look of it. I had heard that Aprilia was moving the engine work in house and away from Rotax. I wouldn't want the first new engine buyer. Second and third year models would be better "sorted out". (Message edited by ft_bstrd on June 08, 2007) |

Higher sticker price, more service intervals, not as user friendly, not made in America..... What competition? More power, higher redline, less weight, most likely better performance. Definitely competition. |

Looks like every type of riding to me Ridrx. It says commuting, high speed hauls on the autoban and even the race track. |

>>>what rpm/rpm's was the test conducted at? The entire range to provide a well rounded test. How the hell would I know? Remember we already established, just the other day, that all these magazines, whenever a Buell shines, are making this crap up. Last week in was an American magazine . . . a while back it was the Brits for lauding the Buells handling. . a couple weeks ago it was a test in South Africa . . now we find out the techie Germans are skewing the facts to make the wanting Buell look great. . . me? . . I say it's an international conspiracy. . |

My bad, I misread. I thought the test was conducted on a dyno. Wasn't out to accuse anyone of skewed results or biased conditions. I'm one of the people that enjoys seeing Buell's shine(pun intended), especially when all the doubting Thomas' are "surprised". As for the Aprilia, nice bike but not my taste, I love my 'Bolt. |

>>>The man likes to know what's going on. lol Or remaining terminally confused . . . you haven't seen the shelf behind the screens have you? Arguably the largest, at least private, collection of Buell technical literature with a copy of every owners manual, parts manual and service manual since the RR1000. I love dull reading! |

What competition? The Buell has plenty! Oh and seriously, Court, all those icons must make your comp run like crap compared to what it could. You do know you can disable most icons to increase performance? And even if you do have icons down there you can hide them so they take up less taskbar space! |

Actually, in terms or pure fun at a party of Buellers, you'd have to go with the internet development book. That one has an accompanying video (featuring yours truly speaking at the Harvard Faculty Club and the Cow Palace in San Fren) and is one some folks wish they could get all the copies destroyed. Buell, in 1998, was so far ahead of the times it was uncanny. Court |
