As Saintly has so rightly suggested, Buell doesn't seem to be in any hurry to fix the headlight problem. And while the Firebolt problem is simply appalling, the lights on the Lightning, whilst they do not catch fire, they don't do much of a job lighting the way either. A friend of mine showed up with a new 2006 Kawi F1000, and the headlights were not only about ten times as bright as mine, but it looked pretty cool too. Made me wonder about how it might look on Lil' Blackie.
Thoughts, anyone? |

I don't like it at all. It's pointy and angular and doesn't flow with the shape of the bike. Plus, it makes the bike look like an Asian brand. I don't have a problem with my XB12Scg lights. They seem to be fine, but this is my first streetbike. Have you tried the trick to enable high and low beams to run simultaneously? And have you tried replacing the bulbs? jon, i saw blackie at mbiv, and she's a beaut, but i have to respectfully agree with the above post. the kawa headlight is a very angular piece, whereas the buell is quite rounded. maybe a new tailsection to go with it? something more jagged would help to increase flow.... (i love a good brainstorm!) Bullet |

I agree with the above posts, a bit too angular. It doesn't follow the smooth curves of the tank and tail piece. Looks aftermarket. |

"I don't like it at all." I'm not saying it couldn't be done tastefully, but I don't like it either. Me... I'd rather see a big ol' tuber headlight and M2 flyscreen (the most beautiful of all tuber flyscreens) on Lil' Blackie. The dual light thing has been done ad nauseum. You can upgrade the big Bosch headlight so it'll throw flames at whatever you shine it at... (figuratively). |

I just finished putting a V-Rod headlight on my XB9. Since it is mine, I like it a lot. It fits in well with the bike and is a bit better lighting. Also, I no longer have to put up with "hey mister, you got a headlight out". I will try and get some pics posted one of these days. |

Sorry Jon,good attempt. But with all due respect,it'd be damn hard to improve(looks anyways)the stock set-up.There's currently a stock appearing solution for the "R".Hella 90mms'?? Something along those lines would improve yours.I saw "Blackie" too at MB-IV,an extremely well done bike. |

Well it looks like the nay's have it, 5 to 3. Thanks for your opinion everyone. I guess I am currently going with the majority myself. I just am just so frustrated by the stock lights. Back to the drawing board...................

Add some auxiliary running lights, you can get a great set at Kragen for about 45 bucks, even come with brackets that you can make work with a little ingenuity. Blinding cagers and small mammals every where I go... Ray |

If ya just want a fairing, this'll do. I was thinking of getting it myself, but haven't made up my mind yet.
Or maybe something like this.
Even more lights...
Kind of spendy though |

I'm not gonna lie...just about all of those are hideous! How bout someone figuring out a way to mount some auxiliary lights possibly low on the forks. Just some really little ones that'll put out a good amount of light...? Just a thought. |

The XB is quite 'Superhero-ish' already compared to most other streetfighters - i'd second Dustybueller suggestion - im sure theres a better way out there..?? |

Just go HID as I did and be happy for life. Very easy install, hide the ballast under the airbox cover, and done. Less then 300 bucks. |

Hey Dana...where are the first two fairings available? Maybe I'm just a sucker for super heroes. |
