I'm thinking of getting my header Jet-Hot coated on my XB and want to know how those that have done this like it. Keep the heat down? Got any pics? What did you pay? Thanks!

Not sure If It's made any difference heat wise.

I got mine done locally and paid $105.00. It is suppose to drop the temp 175 degrees. I love the look as it matches my forks.

Got mine done. One of the best mods I've done. Greatly improves the look. Sorry, no pics.

Never Give Up!

brian,
whats up! have you fixed the bike or are you movin on and if so on to what? i heard bmc wasn't too helpful even though it is probably a defective case causing a misalignment.

I had the header tubes for my Micron system Jet-Hot coated. Cost was a little over $100 with a discount. I work about 5 minutes from the Pascagoula, MS. location.

Maybe LoneXB can confirm my experience... Avoid the flat black; it causes a huge increase in radiated heat. My experience was with a '97 M2.

I had one set done by JetHot and one by HPC. HPS cost less, did a much better job and oh yeah, the JetHot looked like crap after a month.

Did they do both the inside and outside of the headers?

As you know, black radiates heat better than other colors, but the coatings are also supposed to be thermal barriers (at least some of them.) It's supposed to reduce temprature and radiated heat.

I had the Exhaust (both headers and muffler) Jet-Hot coated Black on my Uly. Haven't noticed any increase in the amount of heat radiated; then again I haven't noticed any decrease, either. It sure does look a lot nicer, though.

Cool, thanks guys, I think I'll definitely get this done - probably wait until this winter though - it'd be my luck a good ride comes up and I have the bike apart!!!
