Yep- those $50 frame puck would have probably saved the frame. That dent is bad. Hope you're okay. That's really ALL THAT MATTERS. Motorcycles are replaceable. People are not. |

I think Slaughter said that you can run with big dents in the frame, it may still be straight. Hope you are OK. |

Glad you are ok! I doubt your frame is bent, I have totalled mine twice and the frame is still straight. |

Looks just like my 9 did a month ago. My frame got dented the exact same way but on the other side. My amount was just under the total amount (funny how that worked). A few new parts, some bondo, paint and frame pucks and you can barely even tell. The insurance company will not total it just because of the frame. If the repair bill is more than 80% of the NADA value then they will. Get a quote just below that, fix the bike yourself, and pocket the rest. Of course if and when you sell it ethically you need to disclose the damage. I have every intention of doing this. I actually used the left over cash to pay down my loan. Glad you are ok. |

I've seen plenty of frames that look just like that but are still straight. Erik and the Elves designed us some TOUGH freakin' bikes. |

...does the bike look totaled? Nah...fix it up and ride it like you stole it....mine's bin down and still corners like it's on rails...the scars give you cred. |

"...the scars give you cred." Damn straight. Yeah... I got some rash on my bike, too. Don't sweat it, man. |

well its was $700 away from being totaled, then my delightful insurance agent said "hmmm what else can we find?" and then it was totaled out. Insurance company paid the remainder of the loan and i free and clear...the only question is, whats next? btw 05 had no frame pucks i guess |

Yeah I just got mine back up and the pucks cover most of the scars but you can still see a little on the frame and some one the swingarm and plastics. I figure it just forces me to keep the bike cause I would loose to much on trade now. |

No pucks standard on the 05's, they had to be added, and at the time they were backordered and tough to get. |

I totaled my XB12S back in March. I ended up getting a 2006 XB12Ss in Sunset Orange. I was pumped about the longer frame, higher seat, and overall feel. What are you looking for in your next bike? |
