Personally, I couldn't care less about doing 150 mph. I'm not into disintegrating on contact LOL... it's enough for me to be able to do 100... as long as I can get there faster than the cager next to me if needed. Enough torque to keep me from being bored and keep me happy in the twisty's. I guess it's why I am so attracted to midweight V-twins... I have no interest in big ass I4's... |

I raced a Duc up a really steep twisty road--he thought he let me catchup but when the road went down and started to get all twisty, he wussed out and I overtook 'em....until we hit the next straightaway....atleast it felt good for the few seconds... |

KTM 950 Adventure. Three times, rolling start, up to about 100-110, even switched bikes and the Uly still beat the KTM. My friend hasn't been able to live it down. |

if anyone says V-Max they are full of poo Close, a V65 three out of three times. A buddy has had this V65 since new. He and I rode together one Halloween and he had to see what the Buell had. I killed him off the start and pulled three bike lengths to sixty. He would start to close the gap from sixty to ninety, then I would start to ever so slowly walk away to about 125mph where we would shut it down. I have never topped out the M2, so its fast enough for me. I also ran a GSX-R1000 at the drag strip. I caught him sleeping at the lights. A beautiful launch on my part holding the bike at about full throttle with the front tire about 1-2ft off the ground. As we came to the 1/8 mile mark he passed me, beat me by a couple of tenths, but going like 20mph faster. He slowed down to play it off. The rider said, "You like that Buell." I said "Yeah" He looked like he wanted to say something smart, but since I caught him sleeping so bad at the lights he just nodded his head and walked away. |

you guys don't give the buells credit enough. from a dead stop to some where about 60 for the big IL 4's and 80-100 for the smaller 4's the bike is right there with them. at that slow of a speed it is more of the rider and the launch, and the bike has enough power to make them worry about getting around you before you hit the next redlight or they will look rediculous. from any sort of roll on you're basically done if they're in the right gear, if not you can get a small jump while they down shift about 4 gears, but yeah they will scream by you at about 130 mph while you are still going about 100. Still fun to tell them i had you for a second. i have all kinds of fun below 80 mph, and personally don't need the speed. i can run 1st and second gear to redline and not worry about being taken directly to jail, do that on a 1 liter IL4. you are already in the low 100 mph range. ok sorry rant over. I would cal a buell really quick, not fast, and there is a difference. |

I was wondering what you guys have beat out in a straight line... My wife on her Ninja 250R, my wife on her CB700SC Nighthawk, my dad on his Aprilia Scarabeo 500, and my buddy on his Suzuki Burgman 400. |

"Is a Schwinn Paramount considered a "racing bike?" It rates right up there with the Honda Element that I smoked tonight. |

Since I'm super mellow in anything other than the twisties, all I can recall beating in a straight line are bicycle riders and pedestrians. Oh,.. I beat a run away shopping cart once and it had a head start! |

some of these posts remind me of some tries I had. I remember one time, my Buell and a friend's truck went at it. I was right with him. We went all the way to my house, twisties, Interstate, he couldn't shake me, stayed right at his back window. I think I could beat him if we went again, but the next time I think I'll just ride it instead of hauling it in the bed of his truck. |

A '32 Ford, Yellow, with a nasty looking Small block Chev. I kind of cracked wise to him, saying, Nice car, Milner. I guess he'd heard that crack one too many times, cause he got this real pissed look on his face, and launched that thing like a freakin' rocket when the light turned green. I only took him by a wheel length, that thing really hauled a$$......... |

I "beat" a ticket yesterday when the trooper hiding in the Cattails near Jones Beach had trouble getting a "fix" on My black "Thunder Midget" and settled for the 2 cars out of "Tokyo Drift" who were doin' their best to keep up with me! When I looked at the trooper while rolling off my throttle , he gave me the "you are one lucky sonovabitch go on and beat it hand wave" as he pounced on my tails who had only spotted him as I passed by. Bad day for them, quick exit off the parkway for me. I have a laminar Lip in the mail heading my way but may have to return it as it will probably boost my cruise speed past the point of no return. Lol, I love this damn bike, love it ,love it, love it!!! (Oh and I wasn't racing anyone just cruising home, Meatloaf Night!) |

I ran with a guy who looked like Fabio driving a Ford GT. We were at a stop light looking at each others ride's when he nodded to me, twisted the top of his steering wheel and looked at the light. I thought "HOT DAMM" and got ready to launch. The light turns green and we both take off. I let him go as the road turns to single lane real quick and I know he'll reach a much higher speed than I if he holds it open. Boy did he did hold it open!!! The sound of that engine!!! I didn't go much faster than 85 and slowed to 55, I think thats the speed limit. I rolled up to the guy at the next light and asked him how fast he got up to. He said 160 and I believed him. He never lifted untill breaking for the next light. This is the exact reason I don't ride my CBR1000 at all and am selling it. If I was on that bike last week I would have made Fabio look like a little girl and my self a real ass-ole. |

My highly modified but streetable 84 GT would hit 160, verified with a GPS. It ran easy 12's at the track 'cause the local track had NO traction, I'm sure it was faster on the street. It looked stock but it had only seats inside along with the rollcage, no A/C, Radio, Door panels carpet etc. Dont know where it is now after selling it but I'd hate to think I could take it as I pulled up next to it on my 12R. |

The car I ran or rather watched was the retro 2005 GT. Red with white stripes. My mother had a 91 Mustang the ran really fast too. I crashed it through the back wall in the garage showing off to for some friends. The car was a automatic. I fired it up backed out of the garage and rev the motor like a badass. Put it in drive, spun up the tires, smoke goes over the street and I ease it back inside. Just before turning it off I stabbed it once more, forgetting it was in drive and it launched into the wall, taking out my fathers work bench and a file cabinet. My friends were rolling on the ground. Looking back a few years it's funny to me now as the only injury was to my right hand after punching the file cabinet and breaking a bone in my hand. That bone was the only thing my mom got mad at. |

have only been truly outpaced once - by a zx10r from the lights - lost him in the distance in less than 3 seconds.... can keep up with most bikes upto a ton and easily compete on twisty roads with 600s and the ducs. |

I ran that 160 on a straight piece of road at 3am. Perfectly straight, no access road to get on the hiway, everyone was safe (Rollcage and safety harness for me)I never topped her out again, Kids will be kids, I like to top out everything I own, the Buell 12R will do 140+-a mile an hour or 2. I used to do a lot of track racing with it (The 'stang) It was ONE FAST CAR, not too many steetable sub 12 second cars, especially as stock looking as mine was. |
