I made it meself,Its a ducati rear caliper.

I like how you hid the caliper. Only thing better would be to eliminate the rear brake altogether! I don't ever use mine and am thinking that would be a good way to shave some unsprung weight.

Yeah, I've been drooling over that dual piston hidden setup on Trojan too. Very nicely done! You're is way better because you did it yourself. I admire that.

It works perfect better than the stock caliber. If there is intrest for the braket I can make one or two, sent me pm. The caliber has 2 pistons instead of one with the stock. Its easy to find.

damnit, i was talking about making some see through parts a couple months ago and now someone beat me to it. guess i will have to keep thinking.

i might be interested in one of the brake setups. give me a pm with an idea of price, and about what that caliper cost you. you just reused the stock brake line correct?

I would love to do your conversion.

However, I have a Hal's Chain Conversion Swing arm, which uses a different system to mount the Buell Caliper. I believe it is similar to the system used on Buell Tube frame models.

The Buell Caliper is mounted on a cast plate which is mounted on the axle. There is a stud that stops rotation in the front of the plate which simply rests on the swing arm

I was thinking I could replace the Buell caliper, with the small "Ducati " caliper, and then rotate the plate until the caliper is hidden, and fix it using the one remaining hole in the swing arm.

Do you think this would work?

Could you tell us what the part number of the "Ducati"
Caliper you used is, and what the OEM, ie: Brembo, part number is?

On the tubers there is a Slot that bolt goes into.

Speedy, talk to Blake about sponsership or maybe American Sport Bike about selling those see through parts through them. I would definatly like the trans. filler cap and chain adjuster see though covers.

No there is no slot. What Hals has done, is just extend the stud so it simply lays on the top of the swing arm. Not too sophisticated, but it works.

I was thinking of making a small tension link from the one remaining hole in the left side of the swing arm, and connect it to the mounting plate with a bolt where the stud is now. Just guessing of course, at this stage.

Went over to my friend Gerry's, he has a couple of Ducati SuperSports, They seem to have the same little rear brake caliper, or something very much like it. It was a Brembro part.

Couldn't steal it.

Gerry was standing right there.



Maybe I can just turn the Buell Caliper around, it seems to be thinner on the inboard side. Gotta take a closer look when it stops rainning.

I guess that will be Friday.

Actually the chain started to rust badly right after I got it.

I cleaned up the outside pretty good, but it got rusty again on the haul back from MB IV.

Cleaned it again.

Forgot to clean the inside.

Should have known better.

DID makes a really nice chain that's pretty much rust resistant. After you clean it, put a quality chain wax on, that should keep it from rusting any more. Also, keep an eye on it, because what can happen is the links will "kink" (the rust/corrosion won't allow the chain to straighten after going around the sprocket) what that will do is cause stress on the wheel bearings, and the transmission bearings. Not good at all.

With regards to your set up, and a hidden caliper, I don't think there's room, if I remember you set up correctly.
