They Fit !! Front Triple tree and rear stand both spool and swingarm. I read here on Badweb a couple different times that the rear fit but had not seen or heard if the triple tree fit or not. The front stand is convertible to a regular fork lift too. For $150 to my front door, they were well worth it. Yes I know the bike / truck / garage are filthy, it takes a few weeks for the sand and salt mix from the North Dakota roads to wear off. Its April and the temp is 3 degrees. Disclaimer: anything in the pics that looks like something you might think it is...... it is. Trust me.  The bike is torn down for paint.      | ||

Just search ebay for T-Rex and you will see them all. You can buy the rear stands separately. | ||

Disclaimer: anything in the pics that looks like something you might think it is...... it is. Trust me. Hrm I didn't find what is hidden in these pics.  These stands look similar to the Pit Bull stands. Does anybody know if that front stand will work with the Scg model? Oh and while on this subject, can you take the rear wheel off while holding up the bike with those rear slider/spools or does it have something going through the axle that prevents this? | ||

Rear wheel removal is not possible with the spool stand. That spool needs to come out in order to loosen the axle. The Pit Bull type stands that cradle the swingarm make rear wheel removal a snap. That is why I chose the Pit Bull stand for the rear. | ||

That defeats a large part of the purpose of having spools in the first place! I think I'd go with the Pit Bull rear then. | ||

You don't have to use the spools, it lifts from the swingarm as well, just flip the bracket over. They work very well on the swingarm, real stable. | ||

Coturi, could you take a picture with the swingarm lifted from the pads? I know it's kind of a PITA, but I'd really like to see the clearance. They fit it fine? | ||

Nice spray booth! Looks like mine, except yours has a different backdrop. What was your method for painting? The standard "Gorilla" adhesion promoter, then paint? I tried that and the paint came right off within one day. Any advice? | ||

Nasty, I'll try to post some pictures up later, but I suck at it. They fit great on the pads, no clearance issues whatsoever. They are width and height adjustable so you can get they dialed in pretty damn well. | ||

The pads do in fact fit on the swingarm just fine, as coturi said all you have to do is flip the bracket and voila : rear wheel removal.   Tim, as for the paint; I wiped all the parts with silicone remover, very lightly sanded with a 400 grit sanding sponge and then rattle canned a "Krylon Fusion" satin black base coat. Its made to bond to plastic, and it definitely works! Then I wet sanded with 1000, wiped again with silicone remover and sprayed a lamborghini metallic grey / lexus solid silver mix paint that I got while I was stationed in Germany. Its sikkens paint and HVLP spray with a compressor I got from the local hardware store. I painted on Sat. and so far so good. it looks amazing in the sun. I'll post pics of it all put back together as soon as temp passes 32 degrees! | ||

I forgot that the photo showed that the stand is universal. Now can anybody answer my question about the front one working on an Scg? I'm worried about the clearance between the triple clamp and the fender. | ||

You'll have to take the fender off before you lift the bike. Not a problem considering you'd need to do that to take the wheel off anyway. With the cg it shouldn't be a problem it will just be lifting the bike a bit higher. | ||

Nd_xb - Thanks for the info. I was pretty curious how well that Krylon Fusion would work on the plastics. I know it was intended for patio furniture, but how well does the paint you sprayed over that stick to it? I think I used too high a grit sanding the plastics initially. I'll try the 400, then spray it, then try the 1500 I have. Again, many thanks for the tips, very informative. | ||

I was pretty curious how well that Krylon Fusion would work on the plastics. I tested about 4 different paints on the XB plastics before I painted mine, including the Fusion. IMHO the Fusion did not stick as well as Rustoleum Textured (for metal) Rustoleum was the best by far. It REALLY bonded to the plastic, and I had serious trouble trying to sand it off. Only prep work was scuffing with a red ScotchBrite pad. YMMV  | ||

hey chainsaw, That rustoleum textured stuff... were you able to sand it smooth or does it stay textured? I almost got that stuff in black instead of the fusion. Of course my first choice was bulldog but even at wal mart its like $8. Anyway, for anyone interested in the stands, they come with a 3 year warranty as well. I had a pit bull for my Duc a while back and if pit bull is a 10 of 10 than these are 9 out of 10. For the price they cant be beat! | ||

The bulldog adhesion promoter is $8 but it aslo sprays on CLEAR. Probably would have made wet sanding a littler more difficult and definitely wouldnt help the overall color that I was looking for. I needed a black base coat. | ||

The directions recommend you use help but if you have a block of wood or something to shove under the kick stand to get the bike in a general upright position then the rear is very easy to do alone. After the rear is lifted the front is even easier because the bike is already stable. | ||

I got my T-Rex stands a couple weeks ago and am very satisfied! Did my wheel changes in record time (no more hanging the bike from the rafters!! - and although I haven't done it by myself yet, I did test with very little assistance and the block under the kickstand as Nd_xb mentioned looks like it will work just fine to lift alone. |
