I was wondering about doing an old man with bad shoulders race and wondered if anyone had any experience racing an S? Organization, category, necessary mods, etc. I live in MI. Thanks and ride safe. Mark Never Give Up! |

Skully from Darkhorse does. Do a search. I know he's posted topics on it. As far as classes and what not, that depends on what series you'll be running. |

Hey guys, I've raced my XB9S several times now in the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association. I have a log here on BadWeB where I show what mods I've done as well as race results. Check here.http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=6817&post=531187#POST531187 Let me know if you have any questions. Keith

I've run my 9S at track days. It works well and is really fun. Be VERY SMOOTH. You can't move around on the XB once in a turn or you will be punished for it. I think Crossroads bars are a must to get you in the right body position. I rarely drag pegs with the feelers removed. Usually just in really bumpy fast corners. Don't expect the XB to take racing abuse the way a CBR or ZX will. You will have to do more maintenance/repair. I broke a link in my primary chain, got a base gasket leak from hammering on it not fully warmed, and lost my drive gear bearing. Dago needed a rebuild too. However, we both put a good number of track miles on our bikes. I believe that if I'd stayed off the track the first two problems might not have occurred. The third probably would have happened from street riding due to belt fit issues. I do ABUSE my bikes, that is what I buy them for. Otherwise I'd ride a FDXRGSLHD or a Goldwing. |
