04XB12S. I had the local Harley shop replace an oil line elbow right above the front part of my muffler. It's still leaking a little out of the fitting (I think) and onto the muffler. Should I take it back to them and say "Hey - still leaks!" but the problem is it was done last year before winter hit and it leaks little drop onto my muffler and just looks crappy and collects a lot of dirt. I know this is probably KV but I like the XBoard!!!

Um, I think I would take it back. Try to be nice about it. A reputable dealer will fix it right without any arguing. My view is, for $90 an hour or whatever your dealer charges, it should not leak when they are done. You did take it there to have the leak fixed right? No part should leak when it rolls out the door of ANY shop. That said, I will say I have had the same problem with a few shops around here. Each time, I took it back. The one that wouldn't fix it, doesn't work on my bikes any more. I have 4 bikes in the garage, that's a lot of money I spend in oil changes, new tires, general maintenance, etc. If they don't want my money, I'm sure the one down the road does. So, my advice is, go back, ask them politely, if they complain, talk to the owner. Sometimes you have to go straight to the top, sometimes you don't. Remember, polite get's better results. That's something I'm still trying to teach my wife!

Hell yes tell them to fix it right.

That is a tough fitting, because of the bend in the line there is a lot of pressure on it. I can see where a leak could return, but they should fix it right.

Thanks a lot guys! They do charge $86.00 per hour and they are all pretty cool guys (except the one who changed my tires and scuffed my rims!) but that doesn't bother me. I'll bring them the receipt and say "see, this was supposed to be fixed but it still leaks" and I'm with you Terribletim on the polite manner. Just wish more people were like that. It's amazing what one can accomplish going this route. I live in the Sturgis rally and all politeness seems to disappear around August and any where near the rally but I can see why. Thanks again. To the Chrome couch land I go! woo hoo!

Well, maybe I'll run into you on that week in August, but I'll be on my chrome chariot.
You know what they say. . .
"Chrome don't get ya' home, but it will get ya' laid!"
. . .or at least that's what I say!
